Wow, this apparently happened a few minutes away from me.

All these company takeovers make me feel worse and worse about the future of certain franchises. What adds insult to injury is that Bethesda and its parent company seem to be the ones doing all of this lately. First the Duke series, now id? Soon everything's gunna be an Oblivion mod. At least with all of Valve's games, they're mods of a good game.

id has been its own company of ~70 people since 1991. id, creator of the two most influential first person shooters ever has been bought out and is now no more than a little child studio.

I have only two games installed on my computer at the moment and that's Doom II and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. fuck.

This could negatively affect RAGE...it could end up more like a Fallout 3 mod now, which is not an idea that I am favouring.

Don't see how this would negativly affect them, they couldn't change their style of games too much.

Love the quake series too , played it since I was only 2 years old =P.

As long as the elder scrolls 5 is still in development IDC what companies they buy out really...
