I got the red rings of death about a week ago. No big deal for me because I don't use my Xbox heavily (probably why it lasted so long).
Anyway, before I shipped it out, I could press the on/off button sometimes and that would clear the thing out, but when I shipped out, I was able to get the red rings of death every time.
The strange part is that, now, one week later, I'm getting my console shipped back, with a standard warranty that applies to consoles after they've been cured of the RRoD problem.
So, I'm still somewhat uncertain because I've heard that if you get your Xbox shipped back within a week or couple of days, it usually means it is not repaired.
Thoughts?
