View Full Version : This is just strange, but I'd just like to know what to expect.

I got the red rings of death about a week ago. No big deal for me because I don't use my Xbox heavily (probably why it lasted so long).

Anyway, before I shipped it out, I could press the on/off button sometimes and that would clear the thing out, but when I shipped out, I was able to get the red rings of death every time.

The strange part is that, now, one week later, I'm getting my console shipped back, with a standard warranty that applies to consoles after they've been cured of the RRoD problem.

So, I'm still somewhat uncertain because I've heard that if you get your Xbox shipped back within a week or couple of days, it usually means it is not repaired.

Thoughts?

Mine came back within a week or two and has worked fine ever since, granted, it wasn't repaired, it was replaced.

Some are repaired, some have the mobo replaced.
And some are retarded.

I was fully expecting this (in fact, on my facebook, I posted half-jokingly that I couldn't wait for my console to get HDMI). I just also expected they have thousands of these orders to deal with everyday (or some other large quantity), so I wasn't expecting it this fast.

I'll see what happens when it gets here. I just don't want to get my Xbox returned with the RRoD problem.

The joys of a PC gamer :) Something breaks? RMA it.

Some stores even give you RMA replacements out of their stock to virtually eliminate wait time.

((oops, didn't notice the thread was locked, sorry))
