First off does anyone know if photoshop CS3 works on windows 7 64 bit? I have tried to install it to my windows 7 machine to no avail, yet it worked on my older XP 32 bit machine.
It will say setup is initializing, then this error appears:

any ideas? I'd really like to get to photo editing. =[

Have you looked up the error itself?

First result on google. Please use google before making a thread...

Maybe I should have told you guys that I tried the first one jscript.dll and it says failed to register that dll with some weird error, then the 2nd one actually registers but does nothing for the installer.
I went back and took a SS of the error that happens when I do jscript.dll

[vbscript is typed in first there because I was checking it again, and it registers just fine.]

Well did you search online, like the error suggested? I just did.

Yeah -- when type CMD into the Start Menu, you'll see CMD.exe load up... instead of starting it, right click on it and click "Run As Administrator".
Believe me, registering DLLs is NOT something you want malicious code doing. Since anything you run has permissions of you -- preventing you from fucking yourself involves dropping YOUR permissions unless you explicitly escalate them.
Note: When the screen goes dark and the UAC prompt appears -- you're actually launching in "Secure Desktop" mode... this is to prevent any program you've accidentally run from hijacking your mouse and clicking "accept" *for* you. In Windows 7 there's a security mode that prevents going into Secure Desktop because some people think the darkening of the screen is intimidating and some videocard drivers couldn't handle it properly.
If you disable secure desktop, malicious code could click "accept" for you.

Didn't even think of running it as administrator, I'm so used to XP. However this worked many thanks to you!
