This stuff is really scary shit. :ohdear:
Basically, these guys at SkyHook Wireless (http://skyhookwireless.com) drive around and record the locations of wireless access points. Their data is used by the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android to get really accurate readings of your location when GPS information is not available.
You can test it all out here (http://loki.com/findme) assuming you're on a laptop with wireless. (It's a Java applet, but there's some Windows executable stuff, shouldn't be a problem for you guys; did it on my laptop and was :ohdear:ing constantly)
