The little box in the first pic is a about the hight as the MC, it's just a scale refrance I use when I draft the sucker. and don't mind the crazy dimons in the corner, that's just me getting very borad in welding.

Grr, I wish I knew how to work with computers. This is the only lousy shit I was able to come up with.Well... that's obviously a compliment fish. Regardless, awesome work. Adding detail to models is the tedious part I've really not got a hang of yet :p

My portfolio is painfully shallow. I put so much effort into crap that it takes a lot of motivation for me to even get started on things.

Here's the first thing I ever modelled -- the Horsefly. It never got finished. I still have the model, but if I ever decided to pick it up again, I'd want to start over from scratch on it.

Hey, nice job on that Mark V biped. I always liked that armor better than Mark VI- I'm glad somebody's bringing it up to higher res.

I know that little boxy room in the middle is, er, boxy, but it's alpha level right now, and I'm not sure if it will stay in or not, but if it does, it will be prettified.

Yeah, it's bump mapping on that render. I later converted it to a normal map and messed around with feature-based displacement to get a good ambient occlusion map. When I go back to work on it, I'll probably go ahead and model in a bit more of the detail, because feature-based displacement kind of sucks.

I'm definitely not trying to trick anyone into thinking it's 100% modelled. Seeing as how I intend this for in-game use, it would have been idiotic of me to try to do that.

the pistols could use a little TLC. they need new materials, and they need work on the details. They seem a little fat for m92's, if you want them to look like them. ALso, make the top of the mags curve in, and make bullets in the for realism. Nice though.,....

i made falujah, and no, i dont even know what shellshock was. I made the glock and the rpg, the ak, mp5, m60, m600, m16, and m4 were dled off of turbosquid and rigged, and then the sounds\effects were me, the br, carbine, rail-gun, beam-rifle, brute-shot, and smg were ripped from h2ce and then sounds were by me.

I think that shellshock members either dled the models of turbosquid, or put them on turbosquid. Becuase I've played both maps and it's the same couple of guns.

Because when someone made a thread a while back (either here or at gbx) about Fallujah being released over at Halomaps, the last five pages of the thread ended up with Ross and Sureshot going back and forth about their old weapons being in the map.

Ok... this is a concept for a carbine I call the MAX50 I've been working on for the past few days. I know it isn't the prettiest, but it's waaay better than some of my older concepts *shudders*. It's name stands for {Modular Assault X-Prototype}. It was manufactured in the year 25"50". It's supposed to be set in the Halo Universe, so it's custom. I used a couple of carbines for refrence, including the XM8 and the M4, which can sort of be seen in the design, namely the stock and the gun itself. Please, ignore the sights. They are placeholders until I can think of some good looking sights.

There is probably a million things wrong with it, for all you gun experts out there, but it's only concept, so don't be harsh. Constructive critisism would be nice, though. After the concept is in it's final form, I'll get around to modeling it and getting it ingame.

Main Purpose: The carbine's main purpose is to drain an enemies shield's with prototype energy depleting technology. It's good to use when a Covenant plasma weapon is not available. However, it isn't very good for taking down armor, because it's rounds are not explosive. So, if used in conjunction with either an assault rifle (For close range) or a pistol (For long range), it's a great tool on the battlefield. Semi-automatic fire. Energy depleting rounds. No scope attached, only sights. Medium range. 32 round clip. Foregrip attachment. Enjoy... unless you don't like it. :o

EDIT (UPDATE): I've fixed the model up and put a new stock on it. Truth is... I think I need to work on the stock A LOT more. I think the stock is ugly, but I like how the rest of it turned out. Yay, new sights, too! The box in the top left is what it looks like when you're aiming down the sights.

I actually think it looks cool. I only see a little tiny bit of XM8 influence in it, and the stock looks only a little like an M4 stock. The rest looks mostly original.

^ haha thats my first ever skin. I joked around, asked Teh Lag on old CMT forums if I could tryout for skinning, he sent me that, and yeah, walah. Before that, all I knew how to do was colour change, dodge and burn XD. I learnt by myself as I made it. Guess it was meant to be eh?

Really really early, probably about 10 percent, it will have underground tunnel with faulty lightbridge, and some other little tunnels between bases. I only have 1 base done so far. Basically it's meant to be just a small simple little map for free for all gametypes. I'm making all the textures, no stock or any bungie ones or anything, other than the weapons, vehicles, and particle effects, etc. Though even those, I might make newer ones of.

looks like filters to me :/ Filters are handy, but they're supposed to bring out your detail, not act as the whole detail itself. I can also see little scribles of darker lines.

Any Dual-Link card would be able to. That's assuming you dont mean every texture being that resolution. There's no real point for something to have that much of a texture unless it has a lot of real estate.

I suggest using 3ds Max. I only found tutorials with animation stuff with 3ds and not gmax... but if someine finds a solution with gmax, then go on from there.

Just made a cliff texture (have gone through about 3 of em >.<) for my level (but mostly someone elses) and thought It looks kickass enough to post. I also applied it to the rocks on the ground.

Making all the textures myself, and yeah, any errors you see in uvws i know about, and are getting fixed. Didn't see them until after I rendered. The maps about 20 percent of where I want to get it. Plus my modelling sucks, I know that allready, been learning as I go :P

Anything that does suck modelling wise will be replaced, namely the trees. Everything else im happy with so far. Theres still yet to be the underground tunnel yet. Also the base map needs work to blend in the rocks with the ground.

Teh Lag, if you're going to have those massive ramps, atleast find a way for defenders to get onto the base without getting raped--while also keeping it difficult for flag-bearers. My suggestion is replace the long ramps with shorter, stair-like ones. The sniper tower is a neat touch, though, just doesnt fit in with the rest of the base as far as appearance goes.

Paladin - Zanzi V2 - Just wow. I've got a question though - What is with the setup? Is it going to be a 3-way battle? 2v1? 1v1 with one team controlling the base, and a teleporter between the two beaches? 1v1 with a team on each beach? It just looks amazing. And great job on First_Strike. Just make the sloping roadways a bit less drastic - They look too steep to be feasible in an actual city. Just take the angle down a bit, and the map will be perfect.

Like Zanzibar, one attacking team and one defending, the attacking team just hits from two sides. That is NO where near what the actual model looks like now. It's fairly old. But yeah, one team attacking from two sides is the basic idea of it.

Here's is a super quick F9 active shade-tastical render of whats on my drawing board. Despite the criticism that the Sparrowhawk received from the community, I think it makes a great addition to the UNSC inventory. This is what I have for a low poly model. I need to finish the lower fuselage and then move into detailing for normal mapping. I can't wait to take advantage of H2V's capabilities on this thing. Once I finish the detailing, I'll post some nicer clay renders.

I completely agree. I am pretty sure that everyone's first time flying a Banshee is accompanied by at least a class 3 WTF due to its strange NON-aerodynamic shape and its amazing ability to stay in the air longer than a falling rock. Looks nice - I'm sure it will go well with C&C fans also. I <3 my ORCA's lol.

I'm making all the textures :downs: Red base will have a Red and Gold texture theme, while blue base will have a Blue and Silver theme.

Inside so far, the pedestal like thing is, REALLY REALLY placeholder, till I design a much much cooler looking one.
Still yet to put some pillar things in there, and a kind of trench thing. I love my floor tile though 8D.

Those tall ladder looking things at the back are where air lift things will be, shooting you up to a supported ledge that hosts the sniper. The "skirting board" like texture around the bottom of the outside and under the pillar is pissing me off with uv's though >.< It's all going steady though.

I'll post an official thread when I feel its more sexified and finalised. No point in wasting everyones time ripping apart something that's sub par at the moment, and that I'm aware of the issues within.

That'd be one hell of an ejection port. Also, my pan key stopped working, even though it works for every other application. I can't continue until I find out what the hell is wrong with it.

Also, I was critiquing people's 3D work long before I could model in the least. All you need to critique something is an opinion. Just because you can't model doesn't mean you can't say what you do and don't like about the work of those who can.

just messing around today in max, found two nice pictures for refrence. Have about 30 minutes left of texureing to do, then ill create the tripod it sits on. just thought id share its wip. Yes ive already fixed the front end Barrel and made it longer. Ive only made a diffuse for it. have not started the normal map yet. Ill make the normal as soon as i finish diffuse and tripod.

I don't see how it is. The warthog and its skin are clearly ripped from H2 (or for some reason you made a warthog chassis without the gun attached), and the Ghost is, in essence, nothing but hue and saturation changes.

Even if there are, if no one can see it, whatever effort you put into it is obviously negated. Skins are supposed to be seen, after all. :)

and no, i don't see anything other than a 2 minute job. Well, more if you include putting the texture ingame and opening it in photoshop and stuff.

Pred, you seem very adamant in holding your position that there is more to the skin than a 5 minute job of select>desaturate or select>hue change, even to the point of -repping me for "not looking at the skin." Would you care to point out anything sigificant that I missed? I'd be more than happy to reconsider my statement if you showed something worthwhile that we've been overlooking.

And that mongoose could go places, it looks pretty nice there.
