It's Linux, therefore Wine can be compiled for it.
This is all very misleading. They're making their own Linux distro and writing their own windowing system, there's a fine line between what they are doing and what can reasonably be called making a separate OS.

Windows is still the best so...
This is interesting and all but its not actually a new OS its just a linux distribution as stated already. However, OSX could also be called a linux distribution...

:facepalm:
OSX has nothing to do with Linux. It's a BSD distribution. :eng101:

Osx is unix based, not linux.

It looks like Linux
It sounds like Linux
And it smells like Linux... which smells like Cheetos and Mountain Dew...
... but alas it's not Linux

(yes I know PhysX supports Linux)It's possible... but... well... PhysX is CUDA... and Apple holds the patents to OpenCL... ... Just sayin'.

Worked for Apple.
BSD...
Keep in mind, Apple made a rather thorough fork of BSD when they created Darwin. They also have control over the hardware their window environment runs in. Google won't be so lucky if they plan on releasing a desktop OS.

When they DID change from PPC to X86 -- they some how convinced purchaser's of Apple's high-end software (FinalCut, etc) to, on top of purchasing their computer through Apple, also purchase the patch to their own software to make it work on their new hardware.
And that wasn't a cheap "Crossgrade" as they call it either -- it started at 99$ and went up from there o_O; All for the pleasure of using the same damn version of Apple's own software on Apple's own new machine.
Seriously, how does Apple get away with that shit o_O;
