So my hard drive died on my other computer, so I made it a slave on 3 other computers and it wont work. When I say it died, I mean it just doesn't start up anymore. My last idea was to go and try it on this computer with Vista. It loads up but when the hard drive gets detected at MyComputer, it freezes the entire computer. When I check the error, it said something along the lines it cant be accessed or read by windows. I have some really important info so I can not reformat. PLEASE, if you have an suggestions or know how I can save some stuff from it, Post. Thanks!

HDD recovery. Take it to a store and they'll recover the info for a fee.

How important is the data on your drive?
You could try Spinrite (90$) but I don't think it'd solve the problem.
Best bet is to send it to a company like Drive Savers... you're looking at ~1000$
You could also try to freeze the harddrive in a freezer and quickly pop it in and download what you can off of it before it dies again, but that would make it harder for Drive Savers.
Otherwise, you should have backed up :-\ There really isn't any other option than the ones I listed -- the 90$ one which probably won't work... the free one which is a circus and might not even work... or the ~1000$ one which almost definitely will work (Drive Savers has recovered fire and flood-damaged harddrives...) but costs ~1000$... and will take a while to come back.

I used a program to recover stuff from the harddrive, even though the harddrive freezes when you click on it or any program that does try. So woot. Thanks guys.
