We used to have a pet raccoon, I thought he was neat as hell. My mom rescued him from the road, where he was shaking right next to his flattened mother... which... turns out my girlfriend hit the mom... but.. that's just because we live in a small world.
Anyhow, he'd always fight with our little teacup chihuahua and the tiny little dog would win at first 'cause the raccoon was only like three weeks old when we got him... just a little guy. As he grew up he'd start to win against the dog (AKA over the course of like three months haha)

My mom's holding the blurry raccoon. The little dog there is the one it'd fight with haha.
We had a cage for him outside. He'd always play in there, then after the first month we took the cage down and just let him roam free. He hung around for about five months or so, coming back to visit less and less over time... and then we just never saw him again.
What weird pets have you had? Pics are a plus :P

I had two praying mantises. The first was awesome and ferocious, but the second was retarded and lost its leg shedding and was afraid of ants. It was fun watching it (the first one) catch stuff, especially the huge grasshoppers I found.

A pair of keeper size Dungeness crab.
Also, Carp we kept at my old house. We even made a 18x18 foot tank for them that had water being continually refreshed (pump) and quite the number of other fish for them to eat. They got to be about 30 inches long. It was pretty cool.

I had a whiptail lizard I caught in the desert behind my house. I released it when I moved. Not extremely unusual, but it was a damned cool animal.

I had hermit crabs. I was like 8, treated them horribly. I used to make one travel through surprisingly complex obstacle courses i would set up. good times.
I knew a buddy who had a chameleon. It wasn't nice. It would scream. I hadn't heard a lizard screaming before, but this one would literally shriek at us.

I currently have two parakeets who are paranoid. Seriously. Awhile ago, approaching their cage would cause them to practically go ballistic. Luckily, they've gotten somewhat better, but uhh... they still aren't "comfortable".

I have a few children in my cellar that I removed the limbs from! They're so cute when they beg for daddie's sugar hose! And if they don't to play then fine, I also have some giant nakid mole rats that can feast on their premature bodies! :bunchies:

I had sugargliders. They were too hard to manage, and they didn't like to be held much, so pets that don't like to be touched that are expensive to feed, get sold.

I had about 10 wild mice, i caught them all with this huge bucket, and a ramp.
about 4 weeks later, 4 of them died, but then reproduced, so i had about 25 of them
then eventually for some crazy reason they started eating each other which was fucking sick, cause i had to take out dead mice out of the aquarium that had their body organs eaten out...
then i let the dog chase the rest after i thought it was too much work to take care of them...
did anyone here watch the movie up?

LOL. thats rather fucked. same thing happened to me I think. I had two newts in an aquarium, after so long one randomly disappeared. completely... then when I decided to let them go, the other's entrails were missing completely.

If you play (heavy) Rock/Metal loud and a lot, the mice will attack each other.

My dad used to have a pet skunk. Said it never sprayed so it wasn't a bad pet, until it got old and started spraying and eventually ran away i think.

Indeed.
The only pet that I thought was really weird was my octopus. Most of you have a mantis to keep the bugs out of your weed, aye ;).

I've only ever had dogs and hamsters, that sort of thing...
I consider my automated semi-intelligent scripts as pets, though...

FUCKIN LOL!
6 desert lizards. I was 9 years old and went to my Uncles ranch, and caught all these lizards. We then proceeded to dig a ditch so we could find Jerusalem crickets to feed to them.
