View Full Version : So I have no more wisdom

Yeah, I got my wisdom teeth removed this morning, and it's worse than I imagined it would be. I can't feel my lower jaw, which means that I can't really use it, so that means no eating and drinking for now :( I'm also unable to go and do anything really, so I'm really bored. Anybody have any suggestions on what would help the time pass while I'm not sleeping?

Also, it really fucking hurts, less now that I just took two Tylenol 3, but still hurts like shit.

Don't they give you the good shit to numb pain?

I haven't pulled mine because, I'm chicken shit.

I don't even have my twelve year old molars fully in yet. :haw:

Don't let shit get in the holes where your teeth used to be--I hear it can smell really bad!

Ahh, had mine yanked in Sept. My suggestion is just to lay down and watch TV all day. If you get hungry try to get Go-Gurts.

i've still got all my wisdom teeth. i dont know why everyone always gets them pulled if theyre not doing anything wrong. : /

i hear plenty of people saying 'doesn't everyone get their teeth pulled'?

that's like saying 'doesnt everyone get their appendixes removed?'

suggestion:
surf the intertubes

Ouch. I only had 3, but I had them all removed, and I feel you, man.

@Neuro: Both Appendixes and wisdom teeth are weird things left over from botched evolution. Appendixes have a chance of getting infected, but wisdom teeth are extremely likely to run into the other teeth in your mouth since there isn't a whole lot of room for them. If that happens, they get infected and "impacted" and then you're really in for a world of hurt. Most people just have them removed before that has a chance of happening.

I'm positive your wisdom teeth removal experience is better than mine.

the sedatives didn't effect me very much, so i woke up halfway through the procedure. Thank god i don't remember it. They had to double up on the drugs to keep me unconscious, so i had alot of it in my system. Later, I had a reaction to the drugs and flew into a blind rage, reached into my own mouth and ripped out gause and stitches and threw them at the mirror, where they dried and hardened. This made the healing procedure far less fun, and i could taste the scabbing flesh at all times, because one loose stitch came halfway out, and dangled in the back of my throat, stroking my tastebuds for a whole day, until i got sick of it and ripped that shit out. again. Also, the painkillers made me so stupid i forgot where and how to urinate, so I peed in the yard with my dog.

They did, but it's worn away now. And Tylenol 3, which is supposed to be very strong, isn't helping too too much :saddowns:

Sucks for you. :downs:
Me and my 2 sisters were born without wisdom teeth, so I never have to worry about that.

All 4 of mine got yanked in early June. I got pumped up with antibiotics and vicodin, that was fun. Actually ended up helping me focus on stuff.

I would get terrible stomach aces if I didn't eat something before taking the pills (I think it was the vicodin that did it, not sure though) and the antibiotics gave me a very slight rash. Still have a little bit of scaring but the wounds healed up a while ago.

It only took like, 2 or 3 days before I could chew - mine weren't impacted though, they were still erupting from my gums. that, and they did a really good job of stitching up the wound. I think after 3 or 4 days all the stitches had dissolved away or come undone, and I was pretty much fine after that.

Got my shit pulled when I was about 6.
I have some disorder (not that it causes any problems) where my teeth grew abnormally fast. I was born with a full mouth of adult teeth, minus like 4 of them.
I don't even remember getting them pulled though.

Well, things are getting better, I can feel my face completely now, and I can talk without any problems. However, that may be because I've taken 4 Tylenol 4 and 2 Ketorolac Tromethanmine, so drugs may help take the pain away just a bit. :P

My wisdom teeth aren't giving me any problem so far, so I'm just going to leave 'em.

It means you likely won't need to get them pulled.

I know I'll sound like a dick, but can't you just take the pain? It shouldn't be that bad. I mean, unless you have a seriously low threshold of pain. Which isn't a bad thing, I was just wondering.

The pain was unbearable before, but now it's better (haven't taken any T3s), but I'm still taking the Ketorolac Tromethanmine, which helps get rid of the swelling, cause that's only gotten worse, and now I can't talk again. And Bod, you should have gotten those checked out earlier, cause the more you wait, the worse it'll be, since your teeth's roots will be actually formed by now, so they'll have to cut in more to get them out, meaning taking more time to heal, and more pain.:saddowns:

Oh, and it turns out that I woke up halfway through the surgery, not like I remember though. It was said that I looked/acted as though I was drunk once it was over though.

My dad never had his grow in, and by the looks of it, neither will my sister. She's 15, and her other molars that are supposed to grow in at around the age of 12 aren't even showing yet, and there's no sign whatsoever of her wisdom teeth, while at that age, you could tell that mine were coming.
