Well, I'm in Delaware right now for a family gathering (I live in FL) for the weekend, but for the next week we're going to be staying up north. Thing is, we haven't really planned what we're going to do or where we are staying, so we have to figure that out soon.

So i was hoping you guys could give me some Idea's on cool places to see and fun things to do up here in the north. Pretty much any of the states around DE and north. (We can't go to Canada, we couldn't get passports on time.)

And don't say "come to my house", as much as I'd like to, I'm with my family so that wouldn't fly.

Niagara Falls?

We planned to, but we heard all the good stuff is on the Canada side. But its still a possibility we may go to the US side.

it's more likely than you think :saddowns:

Burlington, VT. I go to school there, maybe why I like it, but it's a really nice area. Church street is just a closed road with a shit ton of shops and restaurants, plus there's the water, you can go on lake Champlain cruises, ferry to NY, rent a bike and bike on the 23 mile trail that takes you on an old railroad bed out into the middle of the lake. Cliff diving. there's a small beach on the lake. There's a shit ton to do.

For the DE/MD/PA area, you're pretty much screwed. NYC might be a good place to check out, though.

You'd be right. One of my teachers in high school had the same experience.

I'd recommend Vermont and New Hampshire; just go on Google Maps and find a park with some hills (would make for a nice day hike). If you are thinking of going to MA, try to avoid I-495,93, and 95 from 7-9ish AM and 2:30-5:00ish PM because those are about the intervals rush hour runs at. Cape Cod should be great this time of year here in MA.

You could take a trip up to Camden and check out the USS New Jersey. Largest battleship is worth the time to check out. Not to mention everything that Philadelphia has to offer. Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Art Museum. They're all worth seeing once.

Edit: Also, MetKiller makes a fantastic point. Avoid I-95 like the fucking plague.

@Peng: That does sound really cool, I'll suggest it to my parents. Thanks.

@Flibit: We're thinking about taking the Amtrack(SP?) up to NYC for a day.

@Metkiller: We had to go 495 a few days ago to get my mom and sis from baltimore airport, went 5 miles in 2 hrs =/.

@Coja: We come up here a lot, so we've already been to Philly a few times. It's nice, but I don't think were gonna go there again.

Come up to Gloucester Massachusetts. You can go to downtown Essex and see Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and the duece bigalo guy filming there new movie. They rented all the downtown stores till the end of august. Also, theres a huge castle here that Mr. Hammond brought over from england piece by piece and rebult it. He is also a great inventor. He produced over 400 patents and the ideas for over 800 inventions. Also he invented Remote Control. http://www.hammondcastle.org/

Dude, that's not all that far from my house. Lmao. Fake-edit- k, an hour and a half, but still not bad

There are some great hikes in NH and VT, but be prepared to bring bugspray. It's almost the end of black fly season, but there are still plenty of bugs. Six flags New England in MA is pretty fun, but expensive.

Spend a day or two in NYC.

See a Broadway play and visit the Museum of Natural History. You can spend a week in there and not see everything. Fucking awesome.

You can also go to the Museum of Sex which has pretty much every kind of porn you'll ever see on the upper floor.

In Philadelphia, you can go to the Franklin Institute. Of course, you can also see all the historical stuff too in the city.

Eh, you could have said that.

Anyway, there's a lot more in PA that's nice to see, though I'm sure most of the people here will convince you to head to New York, the shit hole of the east.

Montreal = Ubisoft so I guess that's good.

Anyways, Thanks for the suggestions guys. i should mention though that my family is lazy as fuck and probably isn't going to go on any hiking trails... But I will see. We are planning on going to NYC for a day though (It may be shitty, but I've never been there and its something I'd like to see.)

If anyone has more suggestions, shoot.

If you're up near DC, the smithsonian museums are nice, when my family and I went up there for vacation this summer, we spent four days in DC alone...all sorts of stuff to do. Smithsonians are free, capitol tour is free, war memorials are interesting, washington monument is awesome.
