I could swear i've posted one of these, before, but I'm looking through and I cant find a topic I've posted. I also cannot find a RECENT topic of this nature. I wanted to see what the rest of the community can do, and maybe we could get a community band together. :iamafag:

Anywhousal,

I've been a drummer since age 12, my friend let me have his kit (or rather it was at his house and he never used it, but I was on it 80% of the time) and I had to move from there about 2-3 years ago. In school band I picked up clarinet, and moved onto the saxophone this year. I'll be drumming for jazz band next year after I showed off on the drum kit during a jazz band session, which, because of the snow, no one showed up.

Also, post pics of your instrument, or what you want to get.

SHIT YES SON.

ps: that kit needs some china's and splashes
pps: mech you're going down in that drum battle.......... if i had a set

Also, if you want to, post vids of you playing, or what you can play, I would but I gotta dig up the video, it's floating around here somewhere.

Anyhow, I've played the oboe for years, and I plan to continue playing it for a long time.

Real picture soon, here's another pic of a similar horn:

Well, I don't have a drum set anymore, so I'll have to see if I can borrow someones or someone will have to ship me one. Or i'll have to contact that old friend (who I think doesn't live there anymore)

If you mean drumheads, our school set has Remo Ambassador heads on the kick, and all of the toms (which took a shitton of moongel to fucking mute)
God, I can't remember what heads my friend's kit had since it was so long ago. I'll have to go find out.

Also: No, i did not have a double bass, I really want to get a (double) pedal for our school's kit.

E: That's not my drumset, the one in the picture. I had two of those cymbals, thats why I posted it. Closest I could find.

Have an el cheapo acoustic guitar, originally a righty but I play left so I re-strung it upside-down. Also, I have a black w/ rosewood fretboard lefty Stratocaster knockoff made by Barracuda. My amplifiers are a 1-watt portable Marshall MS-2 and a Line-6 Spider 30-watt.

I'm not terribly talented, but it's good to just pick up a guitar and make some noise when I'm bored or angry or sad.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y259/Varmint264/Myguitars.jpg
Pic taken three years ago; still have those two guitars but that 15-watt Behringer amp is now my Dad's.

EDIT: Had my speakers up too loud, and scared the cats and dog out of the room when I pressed play on Bod's guitar video. Pretty rockin', dude!

I play all sorts of percussion, including Jazz Drums and mallet percussion. Not that I particularly like mallet percussion. - _ - I don't have pictures because I don't own any- I always used my high school's equipment before I graduated. I would keep playing, but my college doesn't have a music program. :(

When I saw the title of this thread my mind immediately went to the WRONG place.
But a happy place, for you, nonetheless?
(I thought the same thing)

I played clarinet in middle school. Fucking middle school...

The number of people who try to learn to play guitar amuses me. I'm not going to lie, when someone says something like "Oh, yeah, I play a little guitar too, just sort of mess around..." I'm going to be standing there thinking "You're a douche."

I don't know if everyone wants to be a rockstar or if they just thought it was the only "cool" instrument, but the number of stupid white people I know who think that because they like to listen to rock they're somehow warranted to make their parents spend the cash on something that just sits in there fucking room being not played because they're too up their own asses to actually attend lessons is just amazing.

(Obviously some people take it seriously, have talent, and go somewhere, but I know so many people who have these things and never touch 'em, it's just stupid.)

Bodzilla

<>

Guitars are bling for wannabe rockstars.

But also guitars own. they have a great sound range, effects, come in all sorts of flavours and pretty colours, attachments and you know what, most people like the sound of them.
theres a reason just about every band in the world has a guitarist.

Main is guitar. I also play bass, stand up bass, can play a little piano (still learning), and can play a little drums (still learning).

My two guitars are a Gibson les paul custom, and a Fender stratocaster american. I have two small 15W amps, but I use a program called Amplitube on my computer mainly which acts as an amp. I "borrow" my brother's basses, and I use the school's stand up bass. My dad has some Yamaha piano I play on, and I use my friend's drum kit to play.

And adding on a little to Mass's post, about anyone can play guitar if they work at it long enough (as long as you have two usable hands, hell, even feet). There is though a certain point where that stops and you have to have talent to go any further.

Simon Fraser University? Or what?

Dad has a Perl drum set in the basement that I've been self-teaching myself on.. But it's a lot different from playing a pipeband snare, which is the extent of my percussion knowledge.
