I know we don't have the final of Windows 7 yet but I was wondering if upgrading from the RC to the final will be possible? I have mine preordered and I would like to install and just carry on with my life rather than Wipe down and do everything again. My preorder was Home Premium by the way.

Microsoft says no, but others say it's probably possible with some modification to the setup configuration files.

Your best bet is going to be to wipe it, anyway. You don't want old beta files sticking around on your computer.

I have asked this question everywhere, forgot to try here Lol. I would be nice if we could just upgrade :/ Looks like I am going have to steup my PC again when I buy it :/ I hate setting up applications and all of the shortcuts and icons ect to get it how you like it. Lol

You know you can save most of those settings right?

Why not just set it up on a second hdd and then use the windows migration tool...

shit you could even do it over the network.

Besides installing Firefox, iTunes, MS Office, MATLAB, Adobe CS3, an FTP client, Trillian, uTorrent, and VLC media player, everything else I can just copy and paste. Installing 9 things doesn't take that long, and you can make sure you have the most recent version of everything at the same time.

even if you could upgrade it would take several hours, itd be faster to just do a fresh install and reinstall your apps.

I'm using a laptop, and even though I can put another SATA drive in it, I dont have one. And my wireless network is way too slow. only a B

Exactly.

Well how much crap would be left over from the old build? I'm also worried that the build I'm on(7229) is an ultimate version. And my preorder is a Home Premium Version. That's what I'm concerned about being in my way.
