I have a dell latitude d600 that I want to dedicate to Mac's OSX (Leopard). I've read around, and am using this (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.6/Portables#Latitude_D600) to do it. I also got this (http://pcwizcomputer.com/ipcosx86/), because I supposedly need it too.

So here's where i'm stuck, I tried running the install disc, and i'm not sure if I have to format or not, because it didn't show where I can install Leopard to.

How do I go about formatting with MSDOS? And what if it's my only hard drive on the computer, because it's a laptop?

Thanks in advance, and don't flame because this isn't my only computer, it's my backup.

I can help you out later, I just put OSX on my dell mini 9 about a month ago. I have to go do some errands first, just stay on aim and I'll help you in like 2 hours.

Double posting because this is awesome.

So, I installed the first time, and it failed. Reason being is because I used the wrong tutorial, for the wrong OS.

I figured out what version I was installing, and used the tutorial from here (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=130589&pid=971277&mode=threaded&start=).

Hi,
I installed MacOS iDeneb V1.3 10.5.5 on a 1,4 GHz 1 GByte Dell D600 Latitude with the following options checked:

Check your desired language pack
X11
Audio = AC97Audio
Chipset = ICHx Fixed and JMicronATA and SAS
Kernel = Sleep (with Sleep my D600 freeze after some time.) or SpeedStep (not both) (not tested so far)
Ethernet = AppleBC5751
Wireless = Broadcom
Fix = select all in this section
Acpi-fix Cpus=1-fix
Applesmbbios
FireWire remove
Iousbfamilyfix
Powermanagement
Poweroff fix
Video = do not select any option (none are compatible with dell d600)
Application = select all in the section

My D600 supports a resolution of 1400x1050, so after the installation finished change the resolution to 1400x1050.
start a terminal:

$sudo [-s -i]
password:
#cd /Library/Preferences/System Configuration
#nano -w com.apple.Boot.plist
and add the lines:
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1400×1050×32</string>

With this configuration I got a fine working MacOS. iCal doesn't work. Don't know why, but I don't need it.

thanks to javamocha2000 for help to get it well done

let me know if you got it installed or if you got problems...
