Welp...Here's my situation. I am someone who is all the time installing and reinstalling windows on my pcs, do to hard drive failures, OS's going bad, and the occasional virus outbreak. Sometimes I dont get to deauthorize my computer on iTunes. Currently I have one computer REALLY authorized to use my purchases. Which is my dad's pc. What I mean by this is that all 5 slots are used but 4 of them are configs that no longer exist anymore and only one is really being used. I just bought myself an iPod touch today(32g) and when I went to activate my laptop to itunes I realized all the slots were used. You can imagine how my heart sank when I read that.
Now the question is(I am crossing my fingers that there is a way to get through this) can I reset those 4 slots to empty?:ohdear:
:E Nevermind, Everything went better than expected :)

It took a good bit of digging but it was on the support page of the Apple site.

There is a way to deauthorize you computers even if they don't exist anymore; however, it takes a lot of know how, and love of temporal physics.
Things you'll need:
Grade VII Flux Capacitor
Type-3 Matter Anti-Matter Conversion Module
12µg Anti-Matter
15L Enriched Deuterium
Now that you have the list of things you'll need, you should know how to proceed. There are plenty of tutorials floating around on the subspace cortex if you get a little turned around.
P.S. The equations revolving around the free floating quantum signatures from the median offset in the reaction chamber must be isolated within five minutes of reactor initialization.

I had the same problem, they just deauthorized all my computers. I told them I had to constantly reformat several times due to vista screwing up and they totally bought it :P

It wasnt easy, and it was risky. But it worked out fine.:realsmug: Thanks, and +rep

So, authorising a computer, basically just allows you to have up to 5 computers simultaneously be able to work with iPod. You can reset the number at any time?
Mind sharing the goodies on how you accomplished this?

10 seconds of Google ;-p
To deauthorize all computers associated with your account
If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.
1. Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact the iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/).
