I noticed the picture that English had posted in the random funny shit thread, and thought it'd be cool to learn the backstory behind everyone's username.

Anyway, my username started off as silverklan because I had created a clan (or klan, because that sounds 'cooler') around the age of 11/12 where you named yourself a color and then put klan after it. Lame. :)

I later switched to some grass after the humor in seeing "some grass was killed by ****, some grass killed ****." Then, after joining the OPS clan, I went into {altcodealtcodeOPSaltcodealtcode}GRASS.

I stuck with that for awhile, until I had just stuck with GRASS.

A year later, I was FoxMcCloud because I was really into the StarFox games, and then I quickly changed to ChocolateNugget.

When I had tried to create an account on Xbox Live using this name, it was taken, so I thought of something that'd be funny yet easy to remember. NuggetWarmer! Who doesn't love warm nuggets? Unfortunately I didn't foresee the many many many many many sexual innuendos that came with this name. :(

i needed a new name that didn't blow donkey dick back in 2005 (Dark Master) and i liked the card game rook.

I played some SOF2 under the name Inferno, and later Insomniac. My friend a few days later brought his xbox over to my house, and we played this kick ass game called Halo. You might have heard of it. I then searched the web and saw that Halo 2 was being in production, and there were videos and such of zanzibar out. I googled for more pictures of Zanzibar and got H2CE zanzibar, which made me find the Gearbox forums (2004). I got Halo PC that christmas, and instantly downloaded CE, and I registered at gearbox under the name Halo2hCE. No clue where that came from.

I then changed my name later to WViper430, and was subsequently banned repeatedly from gearbox for being a douche, and later on I was permanently banned. Turns out, that the ban coincided within a week of me moving to a new house in Gig Harbor, from Tacoma, and re-registered an account at Gearbox under the name Talking_Rain_231. Most people knew it was me, but the mods didn't really give a shit. During the time that I was moving, the rules with infractions were re-worked and I was only given several month-bans for being a douchecake.

H2vista rolled around and when H2vista.net was launched, I registered my name as FlamingRain, and, to be honest, I've been repeatedly 1-month-infraction-points'd-banned from this site. (Can the mods bring up a log of how many times i've been banned?) I've improved since then, and a few weeks ago shortened my name to FRain, becuase that's what everyone pretty much calls me.

Years ago I was looking for a username for something. I am crap at thinking of names for things, so I looked around my room trying to get ideas, noticed a can of Lynx deodorant and it was a special kind. It had on it limited edition. I was like hmm, perhaps. Carried on looking for names, no ideas so thought ah screw it I'll use it.

Over the years I was like its way too long, so shorted it to just Limited. Before that was 9mm-Man, when Chaos Legion was around, sion gave me the name as I was pretty good with pistol. Before that, I was [PS] Expert. No idea why lol.

My dad used to play Wolfenstein and the original UTs. Killer Joe was his PC nickname because he was the most original person ever ,and, no, his name is not Joe.

I being even more original took that name when I was creating my XBL gamertag and somehow, after seeing that the name was taken, the name generator decided to slap a "Met" on there.

So, every once in a while, I have to explain to New York Mets fans that I'm not a rabid Red Sox fan; but, no, my name is not "Joe".

I was once Hitleranonymous1 because thats what newgrounds randomly generated for me.
NO IDEA WHY.
Then, after douching around newgrounds forums, I decided to come here when m6deep told me about CE.
I couldn't think of a name so I plucked the name WaRReN from NO WHERE. I slapped a 7675 on it because sometimes it was taken.
After a while, WaRReN got banned, WaRReN7675 got banned, backwards R warren got banned, smiley face warren got banned, and every jackass renaming I did.

I rejoined under a few other names like cyanide or some shit and eventually got bored.
Decided to come back after forgetting abotu the site for a while and couldnt think of a name.

I figured Heathen was nice and plain. No numbers or alt characters. Nice and memorable.

SO whatever.

And its not heather, and my first name isn't heath.

I went through a phase where everything's name was a silly common name. For example: Tim, Frank, Bob, etc. So when I got done playing Runescape (lol) I thought of BobtheGreatII (Pronounced Bob the great the second), this way if there was a BobtheGreat out there, I would be original. Also my lucky number is 2... So anywho, that's the name I pretty much use everywhere of everything. The only problem I've ever had with it is that another guy at Rooster Teeth had the name BOBTHEGREAT. And I had forgotten my BobtheGreatII account's password that had an email I lost a long time ago. : / So yeah, that's been my only problem with my name.

Regardless, sometime when I was 11 I saw a show called s-cry-ed and was obsessed with one of the characters named Zetsuei. I then started using it as my online name. Eventually Zetsuei -> iXetsuei ([FBI]Xetsuei for this forum) -> Xetsuei.

Started off as church897, church from the RvB character, and 897 from my school ID. Then went to H4Z4RD because I always loved the Hazard logo. After that I went with Hazard1337 for awhile, because I thought it looked cooler on me then it did Masters. Then one fine day I came up with the name ThePlague, and it's stuck since.

Before those though I had Flex (then heard it was a rappers name and put an end to that.), Black (because the video game was badass), and some other one I can't seem to remember.

Also in karting i'm called The Kid, because i'm the youngest one in the class I race in.

This spread to school my Sophomore year, and there was these two girls in Spanish class who started giggling when my friend fucked up and I said it. Later, one of their friends fucked up (he tripped) and they asked me to "Do the English voice again", so I did.
Soon, they were asking me to cuss in the faux accent, just to hear what it sounded like. I said, "FUCK YOU, GOOD SIR."
When it came time to choose a forum username (or rather, change it from my dreadfully embarrassing meme of a name because it was all that I could think of), I wanted to think of something memorable and oddball. I was going to be Liberty City Mobster because I was playing GTA at the time, but I didn't want to be associated with any one game. Then I wanted to call myself Chicago Mobster, but I figured it was too generic, then Italian Mobster, but that was even MORE generic, so I had to choose something off the wall, something most stereotypical Americans won't associate with Mobsters. I remembered my faux English voice, and so I chose English Mobster.
In hindsight, I really should have chosen French Mobster, since it was even MORE oddball (WE SURRENDER). Oh well, people either call me English now.

My username is a shameless takeoff from the classic battletech series, where the "Daishi" or "Dire Wolf" is a 100 ton mech with incredible power. Since Mechwarrior 3 was my first online game, and I loved the look of the daishi, I decided to name myself after it.

Before MW3, my username was always "Sidewinder", after the AIM-9 series missiles of the same name. The AIM-9 is my favorite missile series, because it's sleek, fast, deadly, and very effective. Plus it was the only awesome missile in the most epic flying game ever, Jane's USAF.

Was signing up for xbox live one day. I asked my cousin for a good name, and he said "How about, the pope!" I used it but added AK (for the Alaska reason) at the end of my name so it was; the pope AK. When I got onto halo pc my name use to be Da Pimp Pope, but then I decided to go for a more proper name that really defines me. So I thought of PopeAK49. AK meaning the initials of Alaska, 49 meaning the 49th state, and Pope because it was my first gaming name. Originally, I called myself "chronocrossfan13", and as the name implies, I was 13 years old when I made the account on aim. Next up was in high school when I briefly called myself "maxcool", not because I thought I was the epitome of cool, but because the air conditioner in my friend's car had a setting called "max cool" and I told him every day to "take it to max cool".

Finally it was "odseraphim", which is not because I misspelled the word "odd", but because the clan I was in was called the Obsidian Dragons, so I just kept the tag at the beginning of the name. I would prefer to switch to Seraphim or even Swiftseraph, which is my new moniker.

When I was first getting AIM and didn't know how to make a screen name, I asked my brother to make one for me. He put in m1312020. I asked him why and he said if you follow the pattern 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, and so on, and group the numbers by m(13)(1)(20)(20) the number parts spell out MATT, which is my name, but the screen name looked like it had too many numbers in it so I asked him to remove the last (20), so it became m13120, which seemed fine to me. Also not sure why the m is there, I guess also for initialing my first name or something. As a habit I continued to use this username most places I signed up for.

Stopped using that around the time I started playing *cringe* runescape. I used lampshade45 as my account for a while but got bored with that name. Used "Legendary45" for a while - that was kind of shitty. Switched over to legionaire45 after a while. I realize that the name is misspelt - I haven't really bothered changing it since I've had it like that for so long. Occasionally I'll shorten it to Legion, which coincidentally sounds somewhat cooler. People sometimes shorten that futher to "Leg" - you usually don't hear from them afterwards. I usually stick the 45 on the end because it's an easy number to type.

Anyway, many years ago, my friend and I were talking about Pokemon, and were discussing the awesomeness that is fishing in the game. For some reason, we were talking about having one of the fishing rods being on fire, and then he said to me "You're like it, a hot rod, you're on fire", since my name starts with Rod. So, many many years later, my brother and I were walking in a store, and we saw Halo PC. My brother told me that it was the game we played at a friend's house, and that it was awesome. So, we bought it, went to see Harry Potter 3, came home, and installed the game. However, I needed a name for my profile, and couldn't come up with anything. And suddenly, it came to me. I would be Terminator. So, I stuck with that, until we got high speed internet, and could play Halo online (we had gotten Halo CE beforehand, and played it all the time over LAN). I thought to myself "Wow, Terminator isn't a very interesting name, I need to find something new". That was when I remembered the pokemon joke, and decided to use it. From that point, my name has always been Hotrod, or if that was taken, Hotrod92 or Hotrod192.

So in short, my nickname came from a pokemon discussion.

I combined these two to make "The Ghost". Some forums didn't like this so I went with "TheGhost" in some places. Now I keep it as one word just because. Also had to do "I TheGhost I" for XBox Live.

One day.. around September of 2004, this man stumbled across Bloodgulch.com. He signed up for the forums and attempted to think of a name. Now usually, he just used some particularly bad ass names but he would always change them. This time was different. He decided that his name would be two parts, the first part would be a kind of ironic twist to the death of his foes. Blind. The second part is the usual badassery that he usually used to come up with his names. Skull. The weird part is that two months later when Halo 2 came out, people started accusing this majestic Blind fellow to be psychic.

He eventually grew bored of all the trivial persuits of the new Bloodgulch.com Halo 2 newbs, and shortly thereafter the site shut down. He then discovered Halo PC.
He was godlike on this game, came in first in nearly every single game. No one could touch him. He was getting clan invites left right and center, but it appears that the name "BLinD SkuLL" did not permit the use of clan tags because of the 10 character limit. He shortened it to TPBlinD. The "TP" part stands for the name of a clan he and his cohorts had during a 3vs9 LAN game of Halo xbox. It stands for The Plague.

At 15 stuff blew up and a certain parental figure in emotional wisdom closed down an email she didn't know about so i made a new one with a password she didn't know about at gmail with the much more creative "Dwood15" (D is 1st letter of my 1st name, Wood is 1st 4 letters of my last name)and obviously 15 was my age at the time) I will +rep the 1st person to pm me what my full name is. (middle name doesn't matter)

So here I am with Dwood as my username. I still use Dwood15 despite my being 17 nao.

My username isn't a reference to anything. Instead, I actually thought about it for more than five seconds, after realizing that this is what people would call me online. I wanted something short, simple, and with a slight edge, yet not straightforward enough to be alienating. I tossed around a few letters until I came up with what combinations worked well together, then finally decided upon Sever. The occasional suffix 323 came from my emblematic typeface that I made, as seen here in my old avatar. The numbers themselves don't represent anything - I was looking at the numbers in order, and thought the 2 and the 3 looked cool together, so I added in the backwards 3, and ended up with this.

When i first started going to forums before halo altogether i used the name "amanufan" simply because i support manchester united in soccer. When I started playing soccer when i was like 5, my nick name, of which you all see today, formed. It was a lengthen of my actual name because it's easier to say on the field or something. When i started playing halo in 04 and when i signed up to gbx in 05, my name was RoScO!1, in a drunken attempt to quickly think of a neat name to play with. Siliconmaster482 was my 6th grade AIM screenname, derived from a love of computers (silicon, not silicone) and a few random numbers. Like Nugget, I had no idea that there would be so many silly innuendos about the name.

When I bought Halo PC, I wanted a more badass sounding name. I happened to be reading one of the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order books, and "slashrat" was the name of a creature. For a long while that was my name on the halomaps and old EP forums.

Later I started using my Siliconmaster482 screenname because I decided slashrat sounded too violent. :ohdear:

More recently, I've realized how silly this one is, so sometimes I'll shorten it to Sm482. Simple, yet effective.

One day.. around September of 2004, this man stumbled across Bloodgulch.com. He signed up for the forums and attempted to think of a name. Now usually, he just used some particularly bad ass names but he would always change them. This time was different. He decided that his name would be two parts, the first part would be a kind of ironic twist to the death of his foes. Blind. The second part is the usual badassery that he usually used to come up with his names. Skull. The weird part is that two months later when Halo 2 came out, people started accusing this majestic Blind fellow to be psychic.

He eventually grew bored of all the trivial persuits of the new Bloodgulch.com Halo 2 newbs, and shortly thereafter the site shut down. He then discovered Halo PC.
He was godlike on this game, came in first in nearly every single game. No one could touch him. He was getting clan invites left right and center, but it appears that the name "BLinD SkuLL" did not permit the use of clan tags because of the 10 character limit. He shortened it to TPBlinD. The "TP" part stands for the name of a clan he and his cohorts had during a 3vs9 LAN game of Halo xbox. It stands for The Plague.

Fully laid out, his name reads T(hE) P(laGuE) BLinD (SkuLL). Wrecking baddies since 2004

I still use DarkHalo003 because I made it like 7-8 years ago when I first played Halo 2 on my friend's Xbox. It's sentimental and I just kept it. Dark Halo is an oxymoron because halo's are usually luminescent and bright, not to mention the glow of black neon lights is pretty cool, and the number 3 has always been my favorite number. I believe when I made the GT, 003 was a reference to Secret Agent 003 Alan from the James Bond series, which was my favorite Bond villain given similarities in name and hair color. The number 3 has also been further complimented by the impact Halo 3 had on me growing up. Halo 3 is still one of the most impactful games in my life as it's a perfect example of almost every success and error in a game IMO.

I used to use it with everything until recently when I realized it was a bit childish given I made it when I was 13-14. Now I usually go by Jasiwel which is based off of my name in real life, which is a better name to use now given I'm older and I'm a sucker for that sort of thing. I have also gone by Durandal on other accounts because Marathon 2's Durandal is one of my favorite chracters in all of gaming history. I am thinking of changing my GT on XBL to Jasiwel003 simply because I would like to keep usernames relatively simple, not to mention people do get confused when more than one Dark or DarkHalo (there was a time when almost 65 people had a derivative of DarkHalo and a group was created in Bungie.net as a result) is around, plus there is HBO's DHalo. I only know of one other Jasiwel, which I think the account is inactive on some random site elsewhere.
