My attempt at a tool*.

Is tool fucking you over like it normally does? Giving you errors on all your imported geometry? Look no further. This application is a modified version of tool.exe and allows your geometry to be imported into the halo game engine without errors.
Simply put this version of tool in your halo directory and use it like you would normal tool but put toolio instead of tool.
So if you would normally type:

tool structure test\levels\poo\pooit would be:

toolio structure test\levels\poo\pooDownload (http://deelekgolo.wmclan.net/Toolio.exe)
Virus total (http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/d51b4ed1920a43f181e3d974afa62e23affc67c28dcd8ab101 c484a40c47482b-1248672635)Now you can have open edges and intersecting geometry with WORKING collision. So no grenades disappearing or warthog spazing.

I remember you gave me a old build of this a while ago, but it tool exceptioned every time after collision if I recall.
I'll have to try this one

When you begin to bypass errors like this, you are just asking for problems. The probability that the map will exception will increase because you are ignoring errors that are there for a reason. I have done a similar thing in the past, the maps showed up in sapien fine, but when you went ingame it would exception.

If you notice, this program is hosted on that guy's website.

http://deelekgolo.wmclan.net/Toolio.exeI wouldn't trust this, not only because of where it is hosted, but also I don't think Dee has the knowledge to do this by himself.

Yeah E3po is a bit of a slimey bastard. He may have changed, however is it really worth the risk?

Like Shadow said, bypassing errors isnt advised. If your doing it to only test the map, maybe see what textures look like/ preview tags the its fine, but its risky and might have abnormal effects.

:/
I have my own FTP there. I posted the virus total. Scan it yourself. And I do have the ability to make something like this. It isn't hard you know.

Also if I REALLY wanted to give you guys a virus, I would have made it less obvious.

place it into haloce folder then open your regular tool exe or shortcut, and type "toolio" instead of "tool"

I've said it before, and It looks like I'm going to say it again. The fatal errors tool puts in are guidelines for levels, you shouldn't be getting them ingame with these in them, the people who are gong to use it, are going to be the group of people who can barely get boxes ingame without getting errors, removing the guidelines is only going to give the people who already have no idea what they're doing the ability to release not only shitty maps, but glitchy ones as well.

Extract aotcr, open in 3ds, and get it ingame. 1k errors guaranteed. 500 if you welded the verts. Now, with Toolio, can you get it ingame?

Uh, what the extractor extracts is very different from the model that bungie would have gotten ingame.

For instance the extractor imports glass as two sided geometry, and other things like this.

It's not difficult to fix, but it takes some effort, and if you get it ingame itll look terrible because you've got errors all over the place, so uh.

I thought hunter's post was a new one (saying ep3o made a new one).

Also yeah, there are strict rules for a reason in tool. This is definitely a "hack job".

This. Bypassing the error checking in Tool will only increase the probability that your map will exception.

My shortcut actually directs to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\Unused Desktop Shortcuts\cmd.exe :\

Oi that would have been nice to know before...

Just delete the extra geometry right?

This can be used as a quick tool to get your map ingame for simple testing purposes.
