How do you suppose it may have gotten it?

I would just put the cat down if it did have Cancer.

I feel for you. I don't know how I would feel if my cat had cancer, but it would probably be a mixture of sadness and more sadness.

sorry your kitty is sick D:

I love me some cute n' cuddly animals, but when it comes to the realm of spending money on hip replacements for dogs or fighting a cat's cancer, i think it's a little extreme.

time to buy that cat his favorite tuna for a week and make an appointment with mr. x.

He's been acting really odd in the past couple of days, so I took him to the vet and they found a mass in his bowel. It may be an object he swallowed, but they don't think that's likely because he only threw up once in the past few days and has been eating and exreting normally since then. Or it may be nothing.
He's getting x-rays and blood tests right now.
If it's cancer and it's operable, I don't care how much the operation costs, I'll pay for it.
If it's inoperable, I just don't know what I'll do.

I hope its operable, so that your kitty will be safe :-3

I've lost a cat due to a bad case of liver cancer, and I lost my dad 7 years ago from bladder cancer. That sucks, man. Hope she feels better, but think about it this way: she may be suffering. If she starts acting really strangely, and meowing alot, and stuff, just put her down.

:(

My cat was an outside cat, got into a "fight" (I would suspect something else, but he was neutered) and got feline AIDS.

Then we had another cat that got run over just outside our house.

And another that killed my pet bird and two guinea pigs before we could stop it.

Luckily the worst that's happened with our current cat is some gallstone or something that means it can't eat normal food.
It's a great cat, if a bit slow at times.

I feel your pain :(

I just got the results back. The x-rays were inconclusive, but the blood tests gave no sign of cancer. That doesn't really tell us anything either way, so he's getting a sonogram now.
Fingers crossed.

I just asked my cat if it had cancer and it mad the funniest expression, though that might be because I woke it up from that weird semi-sleep they go into... I hope your kitty is alright!

My family just put down both of our cats this summer before I got back from college. My mom says it was because they were sick, my dad says because he doesn't want them shitting all over our new house. RIP

I have a cat that I thought last year had cancer. She wouldn't eat or drink, slept all day, threw up a lot, didn't really move. Turns out she was just allergic to seafood, which we kept trying to give her while she was sick. Took that out of her diet and she's been fine ever since. Hopefully the situation with your cat isn't that serious and is just a minor issue like it was with mine. It's surprising how much a diet really can affect a cat.

I may be an atheist, but, thank god! He doesn't have cancer.

He has an internal contusion, which will heal on its own in a week or so, but it was causing him severe discomfort (he has a bruise). He probably got it by being his normal clumsy self, jumping up on top of a fence but missing his landing and poking himself in the gut with a fence post.

I'm really glad he's alright, but now I get to be upset for the hundreds of dollars in vet bills. :p I much prefer to pay the bills to make sure he's healthy than to let something important go unnoticed.

That image doesn't capture the fact that he's just the sweetest cat on earth.

Awesome to hear that he's ok, it would have been awful if things didn't turn out well.

I've lost a few cats myself (one to feline leukemia, and another to a pack of roaming dogs) and it really made me feel good to hear that your cat's going to be okay.

The picture of him reminds me of a sad event a couple days ago a work; we found a black cat on the highway that'd been hit by a car. The boss said to just turf it in the bush but the other guy I was working with that day is a real cat lover, more so than me, and he made sure it had a decent burial.

Problem is, cats get no respect around where I live 'cause everyone gets a cat, decides it's stupid to neuter/spay them, and then they go "OMG it had kittens!" and if they can't find someone to look after them, they just throw them outside and leave them to fend for themselves. It's disgusting.

Had a cat with feline AIDS. Even through that, he slaughtered at least 5 coons in our back yard. He was a beast.

Feline AIDS?
is that even possible?

Apparently. Since the vet said my cat had it :smith: Poor guy died in his sleep. After being severely wounded my coons
