Yeah, note it doesn't say Halo 3.
What does that mean? Well, it won't be some stupid replicate.
Anyway, does anyone have a side referance image of the Halo 3 shotgun - which basically shits on what I said above - which I can use to the basic shape and style for my shotgun?
I have got red rings on my xbox so I can't get one, I have done the towel trick, 8 times to be precise. Think I melted the graphics card or something because it only lasts 2 minutes when i do the trick now.
(Will update this post with renders when done, need reference first!)
Waits for someone to reply saying no... if you do I will beat your ass :)

What can I do with the pump Snaf? And can anyone thing of ways to make it look better. And please don't tell me to change the sights too much, I like them Lol. That is the first custom thing I have ever done. Btw, I think I will put a red cross in the middle of the sight like the ODST SMG has.

I've done it. Didn't have problems for 2 straight months. It's better than buying a new one because your warranty expired.

Ah. If your in warranty then it's fine but if you were out of warranty you would want to get the board reflowed. And if you can't do that then you would want to heatgun it. The heatgun thing is as close to a reflow as you can get without the machine.

If it's a halo shotgun and not halo 3, then why don't you use the h1 or h2 shotguns for reference instead?
Anyway, I'll upload the ones I took a long time ago. I'll post later

I plane modelled it. And yeah, looks like Halo 3 Shotgun atm. Maing it more custom wgen I have a decent basic shape.
I will work on the pump and the grip area needs seriouse work.

4,040 Triangles. Parts can still be optimized though.

the pump isnt the only thing you have to worry about. the gun looks okayish in 3p save for the pump, but in fp it looks terrible. especially the loading port and back end of the receiver (not sure if thats the right term) that comes before the stock.

I can't see that looking good with the design of the halo shotgun.I suggested the general shape, not the actual pump itself.

Didnt really work on the back end because you won't see it much, but I could do with adding afew polies in near the "loading port?" because of the siloutte.

The transition from the gun to the stock is... not ok. You can do better than that. Maybe the lighting is making it look worse than it actually is; I think you need to clean up that area and make the transition smoother though.

Instead of one thick bar going through the stock and the main gun, how about having 2 bars, and the stock a bit further back, and maybe the stock being a tad bit smaller?

I'm referring to the actual modeling implementation rather than the design. It's very rough and uneven. I hesitate to say "unnatural" as it's not a "natural" object, but that's the only word I can think of to describe it. In real life, most objects don't have sudden angles jutting out of surfaces that are otherwise smooth (I am referring specifically to the bottom of the area that connects the gun to the stock). "Poorly defined" would also work.
I have no problem with the concept you have now (or what you just proposed for that matter) but it needs to be done cleaner, whatever you do.

imo it looks bulgy. You should put it on a diet and thin it out like h1's shotgun. The trigger area looks kind of weird too.

Yeah. The halo 1 shotgun is a bit small. Hunters shotgun looks like it would take your fucking arm off when you fired it.
Which is a very good thing.

get rid of the light, so we can see. from what i can manage to see, though, they look bad.
e: and import the h1 model so you can see how the loading port is actually supposed to look. you never fixed it, and with the way its modeled, you seem to not understand what its supposed to look like.

Dunno, and :( I like them Lol. And how do they block your view? Shotgun sights, well, Halo shotgun sights don't really need to be accurate seems as the gun isnt accurate as well.
Just needs a basic aim.
The one you posted Advancebo blocks your view more than mine does Lol, Mine doesn't have a big ring over the top. It has half of one.

The pump action doesn't look like something you could really hold onto. It's very awkward and i suggest you just start it over. Way too many ribs, way too close together, and way too large.

Dam it, I just got the scene ready to unwrap. Then refreshed the page and saw your posts Lol. I will remodel the pump.
Edit: I have actually got a nice looking pump coming along here, will add pictures soon. It goes with the style of the ribs above the pump.

Also, is it really a good idea to have the flash light and laser sight attachments attached to the pump?
And yes, adding trigger and fixing trigger guard now. Forgot about that Lol.

(Not the best origins)The loading port looks strange, curved I believe. Make it flat, and study a bit more on the Halo 3 shotgun (if you have the beta model). I know it'll have a skin (right?) but it still will be noticeable, because most every shotgun origin shows it.
However, I really do love the bulky feel of it.

Cheers, and I wanted the loading port to look curved, I should add another edge actually to make it smoother. And I will add the ejection port when unwrapping because I will need to unwrap half then add it to the other half.

The actual design is nice, but it looks a bit weak so it kind of takes away one of the possible melee methods (which I do most of the time).

Well, if you add the collapsible stock it'll mix up the design, which,
even though yours looks pretty damn good to the untrained eye, it'll make it look less like a generic M90.
