My ipod doesnt work.

80 gb ipod classik.
wont work at all
been trying for the past 3 days to fix it.
it doesnt want to work.
it stays on the apple logo and wont go any further.
itunes isnt able to restore it for some reason, ive installed and uninstalled countless times. done it on different computers, tried the newest version and then tried older versions too but to no avail.
tried to format it billions of times but it never works, apparently the files on it are write protected.

ive been googling for hours someone help me.

Try holding down the middle button and menu together for a few seconds, that reboots it from hardware.

thats the only way that the ipod can even be read by my computer as being connected.
guess im gonna have to trek to the apple store
