While you are downloading the update, spend some time getting to know the history of Battlefield 2 by watching this video by the guys at TV2 Battle.no (http://battle.no/).

High Definition - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7OXcKFsKGo&fmt=22 or Standard Definition - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7OXcKFsKGo
When asked why they made the video their response was:

The Battlefield 2 Patch History movie was basically made in connection to the V1.50 patch release. We wanted to show the world what's actually happened with Battlefield 2 during these four years, from release. Things got worse, and things got better but we can all agree that Battlefield 2 definitely is one brilliant game!

- Barrie "Bazajaytee" Tingletl:dr FUCK YEAH oh crap it's 2 gigabytes

EDIT: TORRENT HERE (http://www.fz.se/filer/torrent.php?file_id=9102).

Haha I never expected BF2 to get widescreen support but this is great :)

Are there any issues with BF2 and W7 64? I guess I'll find out when I install it at some point. Thanks for the post though.

It means that those two booster packs that used to cost $10 are now free. You can now use the fucking A-10!!!

fucking hate the great wall map.

i also forgot how much i suck at this game...

-edit- also, my computer sucks and the game freezes whenever i get into a battle, and then like magic it goes back to normal once im dead.

makes the game not fun.

Oh shit, I need to get my disks shipped to me from California :o

Or you could:
Mount an Iso of the game, and have someone in california read your Cd key to you when you install. Once you update you won't need the cd anymore.

In my mind there's nothing wrong with doing this if you own the game, but others may disagree, so I spoilered in hopes of avoiding infraction.

Anyways, I almost forgot I had this game, I'll probably install it tomorrow.

I loaded up the game with a smile on my face, and closed it with a bitter taste in my mouth. Every time I try to play this game again, I am reminded of how utterly infuriating it is to play. There's no killcam, so you can't tell where the person who killed you is, and it's just too easy to outright die. The sprint is nowhere near long enough, the map is too big to have limited sprint anyway. It practically forces you to find a vehicle, even if you don't want one and are trying to stay hidden.

Infantry only ftw! J/K depending on the map I like vehicles too.

That's why you need massive levels of patience in order to be a good sniper.

just had some pretty intense games on operation blue pearl... the map fucking blows ass, but some parts of it make for great firefights.

Hopefully this will fix that shit with my quad-core computer getting 20 frames.

Never could figure that out.

Loaded it up yesterday, smoothest BF2 game I've ever played.
