Also, does anyone have an HD download link?

Enjoy everyone, and once again AWESOME trailer, can't wait for the full live-action short now... if there is one... I damn hope so because they could go so much further then that! If not this is still awesome, and we'll have to wait and see what the thing is that airs on Spike on Monday night.

I think my only beef was with the Brute's teeth and tongue. They don't look recognizable enough to believe they're real. Lacking subtle tongue movements, and saliva on the teeth.

Yeah, the model looks... like a model. A great model, which shows that whoever made it knew what they were crafting, but still a model. A bit of editing would've helped out there, methinks.

W00t. What occurred to me after I watched it is that the director of those shorts captures what I feel is the emotion behind the Halo plots. Why the hell don't we put him as the new director of the Halo movie? :iamafag: So far I've loved all of his stuff.

Although them getting dropped in the middle of a wilderness to die in droves doesn't seem to make sense... bah, it's halo

Whole atmosphere of the thing is really well put together though.

Holy shit, unlike the Halo 3 live action shorts, this one really made you see that the battles in Halo are big, and filled with danger. And this one was really epic, as well, where the Halo 3 ones weren't as much.

I guess I just noticed it, but the trailer kinda makes it out to seem like ODSTs are trained from fresh recruits, as opposed to experienced Marine volunteers. Not a big issue, but it slightly breaks canon. Personally, I forgive them, because they made it look so damn cool.

Well it could have been that the rookie's (kid with the scars) brother/father/whatever died and his goal was to become a bad ass enough marine to become an odst and they didn't have time in the facial montage for that.

Epic fucking win.

ODST are human. so they need the most support to help them survive. that is why they get special night vision helmets and such. why do Spartans have just regular armor? because there armor isnt ment for ground based combat. its just simple armor that also helps for space. Spartans are already superhumans! they dont need special mechanical equipment. there eyesight is there night vision

Latin is the language of dead smart guys.

France is actually considered the "language of romance" as in "love", while Latin is the root of all "romance" languages as in Roman as in Rome.

They give it to the ODST's widow. Note the hankerchief in her hand. And anyways, who brings a ceremonial burial flag to a fight? That just doesn't make sense.

20 years of war the standards for war would change considerably.
I would guess a squad leader would keep a flag with them for if someone in their squad died for on spot funeral before moving on.

Not true, soldiers carry (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/32558997#32558997) pieces of home, peace or whatever keeps them going. Some physical things which you can touch and feel bring a sense of calm in a land of horror and obscenity like that of the battle field and death. Doesn't even have to be in the battle field, could even just be during a training exercise. Sometimes you're someplace you'd rather not be and just want a memento to remind you of the place which awaits you when you leave.

I just went back and watched the WETA live action short ("Landfall"). It all just really makes you wish they would make a film. Personally I would rather it cover a part of the story not already tackled by the games. Like how ODST opened up on what happened between Halo 2 and 3. The Chief is great and all but he really only fits when you're playing a game, as he is meant to be abstract to let the players "become" him. Would rather have more concrete characters to lift the "human" feeling some more.

I agree. I think a film that follows the same storyline, just from another's perspective, like an ODST.

I agree. I think a film that follows the same storyline, just from another's perspective, like an ODST.I agree, the movie focus on regular humans; Spartans are too unrelatable. In the books you know they are human and they have personalities but they are just to enigmatic. I'd rather it focus on the more human Marines and ODSTs with Spartans perhaps being shown intermittenly as ominous warriors charging ahead in battles...

God, I can picture the movie (if it ever get's done by Mr. Spielberg) actually winning something, best music maybe?

Man There really needs to be a movie, I don't really care that halo is going "overboard"
I just want the movie.

Seriously, with all the success the live action shorts have had, why don't they pick up on the fact that a live action movie would continue milking the franchise? And if Neil and Steven are creating the movie, expect awesome CG and music.

Hell, a Halo movie in the style of Starship Troopers would be pretty cool.

A Day at The Beach was an excellent short. Seriously people need to get off their asses and try and produce SOMETHING at least. Like Alwin just said, I just want to see a damn movie now.

And Halo is a children's game with some swearing thrown in. Honestly, the games are comical, what with the bright blue blood and silly dialogue, Covenant and Human. Sounds like a good fit to me.

Anyhow, I'm in the boat that says "I just want a damn movie now."

Wonder how long it's going to take the guys from 405th.com to make some armor mock ups of the ODST armor?
