i downloaded the halospy ce utility from halomaps (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=513)
and it doesnt work so i guess it only works with older versions or smthen and i was wondering if anybody knew a way to get it worken with v1.08
or could direct to an updated version of this somewhere
cant find it on halomaps if there even is one

I used to use it all the time - it was a great app. Hasn't worked for the past few years unfortunately.

No, it probably just has to do with the Halo client build number it is sending. The Gamespy server has been the same since the Halo PC betas. In fact, it could be the same server for several games. What makes sure you don't get different versions of games is because of the client and server build numbers. If a server runs with 1.08, it will communicate to the Gamespy server saying it is 1.08. When a client with 1.08 queries the Gamespy server, it knows to only return 1.08 servers. Because of this, old versions of the game still work (including the beta versions ;))
