Good find. Wish there was a preview rather than just "it's gone gold".

We'll have to wait for the dick head to get his head out of his ass and install Vista.
Should have sent it to h2v.net for review tbh.

Are you trying to suggest that games are somehow released before they go gold?

This statement scares me:
Flat textures, blob shadowing, poor effects - were the settings turned down? Nope, I did check.
 So maybe those screenshots of District weren't old.. and we really are getting the "below par" shadows and bump-mapping :(

Don't worry... they could've easily changed stuff afterwards. Maybe that was an old build or something.

no, the textures weren't flat, they just weren't the SM3/SM4 stuff he was probably seeing in the next booths over. On its standards, Halo 2 looks amazing, just lacking the next gen stuff. On top of that, he was playing Beaver Creek, which wasn't graphically overhauled on the modeling side. Most of everything had sharp edges, etc.

A friend just sent me ingame footage of the MP (that new map thats based off outskirts) and SP (high charity) for H2V, I'm guessing its for that trailer that is suppose to be coming out

The animation and camera movement is amazing . The rendering, not so much. Lulz at the dance sequence at the end.

The animating and cinematics far surpass any graphical ugly-bumps (not going against your post btw, just saying :)). I posted it before I saw Metriod get hawt for Master Chic though...

The opening scene with the ODST's had the best animation... When the MC showed up it all went to hell, I know he's strong and everything, but kicking elites across that much distance, jumping that high on buildings... I have to agree that the scene after samus throws both shields and the chief bounces the sniper bullet off them was cool.
EDIT: MC is not a girl, story ruined.

1st LULZ at double post
"There's also a tool kit, Halo 2 Map Editor, included in the software for building maps. I installed it, but also realized very quickly that I was in way over my head. This is one powerful tool that lets you define terrain, vehicles, weapons, sounds, camera position, you name it. If you love Halo and understand a little bit of programming, this app could put you in gaming heaven."

BTW: Do NOT take that as scripting will be enabled. Let me say again: don't be a http://sa.tweek.us/emots/images/emot-hurr.gif

There were like 3 female Spartans, Kelly doesn't have hair so it wasn't her, the other two were killed.

Exactly... and it was kinda odd how a girl could break armor with... an erection???

Right, seeing as how this is OFFICIAL halo media, Samus exists in Bungie's universe, and it is clearly labeled to be set after the events at Reach. :eyesroll:
Shut the fuck up and enjoy the fucking video, jesus.

To quote the FAQ:
Internet: How can master chick/chief have that spark even though she was actually a girl?
Me: Think about it....

The video of uplift and District reminds me of PS3's washed out looking colours. I hope thats just monitor settings.

Weren't there people bitching about H2V not coming with maps from the map pack? Terminal is listed on there...
And its pretty cool how it says where exactly in the state of a MP game the server is (ie pregame lobby)

There were people complaining about not getting the two new maps (desolation and tombstone)... where'd you get that screenshot?! :)

Let's just hope for a somewhat better community.

Seeing as how most HaloPC will be coming over and how the Halo2 kiddies will probably as well, I doubt the "general" community will be filled with that many high-quality "members"

Shit happens, most kiddies wont like being beat and return to aimbotting in halo 1, or they change their ways in hope of getting a shiny medal instituting they're not a moron.

Yeah, and if any idiots show up on these boards we'll just ban them.

I'd be a bit amazed that these "kiddies" convinced their parents to pay ~100+ bucks for a new OS and the game ...

Remember Syuusuke, stupid kids come from stupid parents. Despite popular belief, stupidity is mostly genetic. Only in a few cases there have been idiots that come from parents who aren't (i.e. me).
