I recently had to reformat , and just downloaded the CCCP problem is , suprisingly it doesnt feature all the codecs i need for AVI and other video formats on Vista 64 , just wondering if anyone had any links to any decent codec packs out there that would help?
I tried DiviX for Codecs too , but thats not done it either so idk what to do.

You could try this:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Make sure to choose custom when installing and pick the things you need, aka don't let crapware install.

I run CCCP and whatever version of ffdshow tryouts was the newest in August. What super rare codec do you need that wasn't in CCCP? :-3

Try VLC. All of the codecs it uses are made in-house by VideoLAN.
Also, remember that AVI is a container format and a lot of different actual video formats can be used with it (xvid, dvix, various forms of MPEG)

How big is the file? (I'm wondering if you can send it to me for inspection / possible conversion to a different format)

is the video file corrupted? if you switched it off during your reformat, it may have gone FROILEBEN kaput.

I personally use K-Lite (http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm) Codec Pack. It's been on each of my computers and I've never had a problem with it.
