You could buy a 60 gig harddrive for the 360 with that 100 dollar gift card :O

Any way you look at it, that $100 gift card is going to be spent on Microsoft-backed products, so you really end up paying $299.

$199 =/= $299

You get the 360 AND the gift card, TOGETHER, for $199. That means technically speaking you are getting a 360 for only $100, with a free $100 to spend on games/anything you want (you could use the gift card on groceries if you wanted to).

How does this come out to be $299 exactly?

You could always use that $100 to buy yourself some condoms to prepare for all the sex you are going to get because you own a 360, which all the ladies like.

My only conundrum is which games to get with the gift card.

I KNOW I want to save some for Assassin's Creed 2. But with all the cool new games coming out I don't know what to get! :( Decisions, decisions!

Don't buy Modern Warfare 2. Play it at a friend's house, or better yet, get them to bring the game to yours :realsmug:

If you have a psp, get bloodlines as well as AC 2, bloodlines is directly after the first one.

Except most people buying a 360 don't already have one and therefore they use that gift card on 360-related items (namely games to start off the collection, followed by either a Live sub or some accessories). That gift card is going right back to Microsoft. So, treat that $100 gift card like it is $100 cash (since it might as well be at that store), and you have $299 again. If it were only good for 360-related items, I'd be inclined to agree with you...but it's not.

OHHHH, okay, okay, you and I were looking at it from two entirely different ways. You saw it as, "Okay, I bought the Xbox for $200, and I get a free gift card to spend on other Xbox things which comes to $299."

I was looking at it as, "They're selling the xbox for basically $100 and then giving a $100 gift card."

Ah, well. :)
