Sound crappy after Ubuntu 9.10 Update

Okay, I updated to Ubuntu 9.10 yesterday, and everything went smoothly. Before I updated the sound was fine. Now I have to have everything at 50% or less sound, or it sounds like crap.

Did they mess up the drivers for my sound card in the new update? It wasn't like this before :\

sorry for all the topics but I seem to be having more trouble with this Ubuntu install than I thought. But i'm not switching back...

I can't get sound to output from my speakers - it outputs from my speakers just fine though.

If you're using ALSA, I guess check their wiki - they have a lot of stuff on setting things up.
