No shit about how horrible the game is, post your times from the Spec Ops level "The Pit".... I've been able to clear it in 31.05 seconds, no idea how IW did it in under that...

My friend did it in 29.9. Only took him 30 consecutive redos though xD
Didn't look too hard to do fast, just need to be accurate.

Get out of my thread. :cop:
What path are you guys taking when you do it? I usually start off aimed at the left-most target, then take the middle one, and then the right. I then run past the first group stuff and stop a little short of the second group, take them both out in whatever order is easier. I keep zoomed in from this position while walking forward slowly and take out all the third area guys. Then run into the building, kill all three guys, switch weapon, run up the stairs, melee guy, use second weapon to finish off top four guys. Then I usually take out most of the guys in the second last area from the top of the building (really easy to see them), then I run all the way to the first of the last two, spray from the hip until they're both down, and run to the end.

The trick is to try and combine targets. There are no less than four opportunities when you can take down two targets with one shot. Also, sprint as much as possible, and completely avoid reloading if you can manage it.
Cortexian
November 18th, 2009, 05:52 PM
Yea, I almost always do all of that, though there may be some spots I can sprint more...
Switching to pistols helped me :)

He is a wise man. I usually start off with the middle target, then hit left, and finally right. I run up around the window and shoot the targets that pop up. I find that if I take my time when aming, I get a better score overall. I've never gotten below 33 seconds, but I'm gonna load it up soon and go at it again. BTW, I've only played it like a billion times in the campaign. I'll try this out though in spec-ops mode.

Why are all you guys saying the game sucks? It looks pretty good from what I've seen and heard. Or are you all butthurt over the matchmaking only thing?
What the hell does butthurt mean?

I just ran 6 runs of the course. I ended up with 29.5 as my best :mech:
My goddamn game doesn't take screenshots when I press F12 and I hit print screen just in case but that just comes up as a black box in paint.

iv done it in 24:80. i used the g18 and fired lightly. this was on the 360 though, not on the pc.
if you guys want proof i can hound my cousin for his shitty capture card and see where that gets me
E: and i feel like i took awhile lining up shots. i can totally see how they got 22 seconds

Snap, I didn't even notice the G18 there. Well, I know it's in campaign, but I'm not so sure about spec ops. I used the MP5k with the Eotech. Pistols do teach you to take your time to aim, though. I like the Desert Eagle to start off because the iron sights is pretty good, but then you have to reload and switching to another gun takes a while so I just go for it with the MP5K.

well the thing with the g18 is that unless you really just tap the trigger, youre going to fire 2 or 3 shots, which fuck your accuracy. i ran through like 35 times starting with the m9, the switching to the usp knife (saves almost a whole second on that target that flips out of the wall) getting times like 25. i decided to try the g18, and got around 24:80 the first time, but could never get it again. then i started going through with the ak47 and got times like 25 and 26.
then i killed all of the civs and got a time of 45. guy at the end bitched me out
E: oh the 24 i got was in the campaign when i was trying to get that achivment for getting a time under 30. i got the 3 stars in spec ops, but i cant remeber if the weapons are different. i dont think so because the usp knife and m9 were both there.

G18 isn't there in Spec Ops irc.
E: Yea it isn't, bit I was able to shave a LITTLE more off my time...

I got 25.6 on Xbox, with auto aim turned off like always. The trick is to grab an SMG at the beginning (so you move faster while in ADS), and take single shots on all the targets (so that you get a huge accuracy bonus).

^ This. The large clip capacity on the MP5K usually means I don't need to reload.

Yes, but I was referring to the "accuracy bonus" you mentioned. While that works just fine in campaign, the luxury isn't there in Spec-ops. Quite frankly, I could shoot every civilian in spec-ops and have no impact on my time (which I think is kinda weird actually).

The accuracy bonus isn't literally a bonus. When you have the discipline to fire a single round, you are rewarded with almost no recoil, depending on the weapon you use.
LOL, my fastest times always included hitting at least one civilians. Most of the time it's to hit an insurgent faster so I can move on.

That was awesome anyways. Your movement was so smooth and fluid. Mine is so choppy and abrupt. What I do is pretty much stand in one place, take out 2-3 targets then sprint more and take down the rest. I guess I'm doing it wrong if i can't get under 29 seconds.

This is pretty much the first thing I noticed; it seems like you pause for half a second or so after lining up a target, every time.

I'm making sure that the target is down, I've tried to force myself to continue on after firing the round but it doesn't work...
Must be a side effect from hunting and such, just the way I've been taught to shoot irl.

What?
I'm serious, lol, not making shitty excuses. I've been taught to shoot for hunting, and I spend that majority of my real shooting while hunting. It's not about shooting all the animals in the forest in 30 seconds or less, it's about hitting the animal you're aiming at and dropping it as fast as possible...
However, I forced myself to try and ignore the targets and move to the next one as soon as I fired:

Considering that your reaction time to pretty much everything is the same, if you train yourself to make sure the target is down, then you'll find it difficult ot break the habit.

Now that's a ridiculous score. Good job. Some dude at IW must have spent weeks playing this over and over and over just to get that score.

I'd be willing to bet that 22.60 is *possible* solo, but honestly, 23.50 was a one-time deal that I managed to eke out. My average is about 24.70. Cooperative might actually be harder on that map, because you have to have two people who know exactly what they're doing. I don't know anyone who I would trust to perform on par or better than me in cooperative mode. :/

Sorry, they look very similar, and they're basically the same gun. The USP is slightly shorter than the MK23 and lacks the threaded barrel, and the MK23 is about twice as expensive due to way it's built in higher quality.

I usually pick up a SMG instead of pistol though.
And Co-op sucks tbh on The Pit, because usually your team mate shoots a civilian like a tard. I usually shoot civi's through enemies though, pisses me off.
