I read somewhere that someone is an MLG, maybe in that post your jobs thread.

I have some questions for any and all MLG gamers.

How did you get that good? Do you have to be good to be MLG and get sponsors? How exactly does sponsoring work? Is it a tough life? Is it fun? Do you think when you play? I find it hard to think when I play, just not used to it and I don't know what to think about. I know that thinking would make me a better player but I digress.

Yeah I play 170 hours a week on halo and another 450 hours each month in Unreal. I make a montage each morning of the previous days games. I can edit a montage under 20 minutes so I still have time for school. Which is not regular school, it's a gaming school for people going into MLG when they turn 18.

Pro gaming is one of the worst jobs imagineable, MLG gamers lives are terrible to say the least. You also have to be borderline inhuman to be good enough (play CEVO-p teams and you'll see what I mean). Lastly, the MLG is a joke. Console gaming is like getting really good at whack a mole, whereas pc gaming is like throwing 3 darts at a dart board and having each consecutive dart go up the ass end of the other.

I mean, who can blame me? I was born an MLG superstar. My parents kicked my ass until I could 3sk, beat me if I scoped in with a sniper, took away my eating privileges every day until I made a 20 minute montage.

How did you get that good? Well, practice. Playing with some of my freinds who are extremely good also helped.

Do you have to be good to be MLG and get sponsors? Yes.

How exactly does sponsoring work? Basically, get really good. Find a buisness that would like to sponser you. The better you are the better chance you have of getting a good sponser.


Is it a tough life? It depends on the person really.

Is it fun? If you think playing games is fun then yes.

Do you think when you play? Yes! Anticipating what your enemies will do and where they are going to be is a very useful skill.
