I highly recommend this card! I got an Over clocked edition, from here:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?msi-86gto&P=0
It has 320bit memory bandwidth, instead of the slandered 128bit. I did a video stress test in CSS with everything maxed out i got 120fps average.
I also ran stalker set to high and got very good FPS. Some areas slowed down in stalker. But this is because of poor optimization. People with 8800's are having issues with stalker.
This is a great budget dx10 card. I strongly recomend it to anyone who is a on tight budget and cant stretch to the 8800. It also does not drain power, it does not require extra support from the PSU, all it needs is a PCI-E port. I am running a 400W power supply.
Rummer has it, this card will run crysis fine, providing the rest of the system is up to standard. My specs:
AMD Athlon 3700+ 2.2GHZ
1GB ram
Nvidia 8600GT
Windows vista ultimate.
All in all, this is a great card for low budget gaming. The performance it gives out for the price is incredible!

I'll just post in here, so that I don't need to make a new topic for this.
I'm going to buy a new graphics card soon. At first I was thinking of buying a geforce 7600GT, but then the geforce 8600 series were announced and I didn't have enough money back then to buy a 7600GT either. So I decided to wait for them. And now when they've finally arrived, I'm not sure which card will work fine for my PC. I know the 7600GT will work fine, but I'm not sure about the 8600GT.
Here are my PC specs.:
AMD Sempron 64-bit 3000+ @ 1813 MHz
1 GB ram
Integrated Geforce 6100 with 256 MB(It will be able to run H2V, but I still want a new one :P)
200 GB HDD
Windows XP/Vista Ultimate dualboot
I have the money I need to buy either 7600GT or 8600GT. But I still need to know if my PC will be able to handle the 8600GT or not.
So, will it be able to handle it?

120FPS on max settings? Man, my comp really IS in the Dark Ages... maybe I'll hold off on my notebook until they can make an 8600 GO for it, eh?

The link works fine mate.
Yes, "Someone" that card will work with your machine, but find out your power supply wattage, and make sure your mobo is PCI-E. Although, your CPU slows you down an awful lot and wont be able to get the best out of this card because of it.

My motherboard has a PCI-E slot and you're right. I need to check my power supply and I think I'll have to buy a new one too with more watts. But that's not a problem, because I have enough money for both things.
Thanks P-Thunder.:)

You might not need to buy a new PSU. I think the minimum these things will run on is 350W, but i do recommend a 400W.
btw, My onboard is a Geforce 6100! There not that great are they? haha.

You are wrong, good sir. Look on MSI's website, or any review for that matter. It is 128bit.

That says 8800GTS, not 8600GT.
And the specs are wrong there too, 8800GTS comes in 320 and 640mb variants.

"I thought they were right as its the Overclock edition, regardless, iam very happy with this card."
You can't change anything but the Core and Mem clock speed with overclocking, there is no way to change the amount of memory or the bus, unless you are nVidia. That site you got it from is also full of so many mistakes on hardware information.

Yeah, there was lots of confusion on this card, as i ordered that on April 17th, the realse date. The mem bus is hardware, and cant be changed. Its like over clocking a pentium 4 into a duel core :P
Still, i read reviews before on this card so i new what to expect. It is better than i expected. Also, someone, the 6100 is terrible compared to the 8600. Even with a poor system, you would see an increase from a 6100. = ]

Someone -- Regardless of your CPU bottleneck you'll still notice an improvement on a dedicated card vs your integrated 6100. Although you've got to be sure you've got a slot for it. There is only a PCI-E version of all the 8 Series, so be sure you've got a PCI-E slot.
But you are better off upgrading your system, a 1.8 Semperon is eck.

That's what I've wanted to know. I wasn't sure about the processors response to the 8600GT, but now I know. My motherboard has a PCI-E 16x slot, so I don't need to worry about that. But I still have to check my PSU. And I'm also thinking about buying a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ in the near future, but the 8600GT will be the first thing that I'm going to buy. Thanks for your help guys:)
also i have a 1.8 sempron

This is my performance rating from vista. Its based on the lowest thing in your computer, my CPU being the lowest, and memory just a little higher.
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/6861/vistperformqq2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I like my CPU though, AMD Athlon 64 3700+
Note: Iam not running 64bit vista, so i cant get the best out of this CPU. Iam waiting for more 64bit support.
