Fuck yea, did something similar with a friends netbook four or five weeks ago. He had DynDNS and Remote Desktop setup to access the netbook from home when he wasn't there and he luckily didn't have a password installed so there was no need for the thief to steal the machine. We gathered information for a few days and then sent it off to the cops, was recovered in 3 days after we sent them the information.

He's right though, it really comes down to what level security you're using to log in. If my PC were stolen you'd also need to steal my USB data authenticator to gain access to my files and then you'd need to torture me for the password (random alpha-numeric w/special characters that's at least 16 characters long). So the easiest solution would be to just reformat the PC.

Then again, sometimes you get a thief who will steal a PC to disassemble it and part it out, in which case you're pretty screwed.

You'll see that kind of tech hitting servers way before it hits desktop computing. I mean, desktops are just now starting to go multi-core mainstream. Multiple processors in the same PC? You'll need an EVGA SR-2 and a couple Xenon processors or similar enthusiast level hardware. Servers have had multi-processor (note: not multi-core) motherboards for years, and there isn't really a practical solution to use multiple processors in a home PC. I agree, however I'd rather be able to use all the flight simulation controls I have for my PC with it. As a Canadian citizen with a Private Pilots License I also enjoy flight sim games and even the occasional flight action/shooter game. My stuff has been boxed up for a few years though, ever since I actually go my PPL the whole "simulation" thing is really underwhelming.

Bottom line is that flying games should be on PC, there's already a plethora of controller hardware out there designed specifically for it.

There are plenty of reasons a game might not be ported.
Hardware compatibility, platform interest, profitability the list goes on.
You gotta think, they need to make sure that a large range of hardware configurations won't cause huge problems for the end user, just look at Halo PC and Nvidia, ATI cards had no issues with rendering the cloak shader but Nvidia cards had a ghosting effect and didn't show the material properly.

Now what I'm about to say is by no means a example of how everywhere is but, the place I'm currently on a temporary work trial has bigger sections for the PSP and UMD than it does for PC games.
The local town near where I live has about 4 games shops and in each one of them, the smallest games section happens to be the PC section.
Steam and D2D might be popular retail services but one has to ask, if PC games are so profitable at this current stage, why aren't there bigger sections in the brick and mortar retail stores?

I have no doubt about that. The majority of the reason involve the primary devs and publishers in Japan. A good example is Harmony Gold and how they essentially FUBARed Macross by turning it into that shitty robotech series. Ace Combat is such a well developed series they're worried another American port company will ruin it, be it either ingame lore, controls, or any un necessary features etc. America has always been on thin ice when it comes to Japan importing their pride and joy games. Another good example are many Gundam games which we have yet to appear. The last great release for Gundam was Encounters in Space, every game since then (including Dynasty Warriors gundam) has generally been mediocre and sub par. From Software has been generous when it comes to Armored Core however (thank god).

BTW I logged like 30 hours in Ace Combat 4 back in the day. The new one looks awesome, but the Third Person perspective looks... Confusing. I am extremely worried about this new "Close Assault" perspective they're introducing. Throughout the series Bandai Namco has introduced slight and subtle changes to mechanics and formula while still keeping it to what makes Ace Combat so great. This is new and big however, so I'm on the fence about how Assault Horizon is going to play out. I'm also disappointed at them moving to the real world and abandoning Strangereal, I had a strong affinity for the nations in Strangereal, particularly Emmeria from AC 6 and Osea and Belka in AC5 and AC: Zero.

You should wear a helmet always, not only when you expect to get hit by a car. I'd expect to fumble or tumble my bike in a crowd of 300 bikers, it's almost unavoidable and has happened around me and to me at all the bike events I've been to (used to go to bike marathon things every now and then and I'm still an avid down-hill biker).

i still dont think getting hit by a car constitutes a lesson learned about helmets. if anything thats a lesson not to bike in a city. youre going to get seriously fucked up getting hit by a car, helmet or not. i mean, i agree you should always be wearing a helmet when biking, but christ sake somebody running you over with a car is a little heavier than falling off your bike or riding into a tree branch or something.

But wearing a helmet regardless if you hit the ground with some force head first it will save you some pain and trauma.....now with a car in which this happens rarely it can save you from getting your skull cracked open like a egg if you get hit and your head slams on the car or ground and your head slams on the pavement or smack the side of your head on the sidewalk or road.

In general you should at least wear a helmet when bicycling. At least have some protection while riding. It should be common sense.

They didn't fire on the emergency vehicles in the video there. At least not that I saw. The vehicle just stopped after they heard that second volley of shots, they didn't want to get shot up. I think the shots were directed at people in front of or to the left (video perspective) of the vehicle.

Not sanctioning what that military was doing, whoever approved the orders to fire on civilians needs to be removed from power immediately.

I really never got the competitive players in SC2 that give a shit about rank placing and shit. I like SC2 because it's an awesome RTS that I can sit down with friends and have a good time playing. And you don't even need to know how to play it that well to have fun. Once it gets competitive it seems EVERY players attitude when playing SC2 goes downhill. We had a tournament last year at Fragapalooza and pretty much everyone in it did nothing but QQ.

Is all SC2 competitive play like that? Or is this video some kind of funny joke playing on the stereotype? I don't care enough about how good players are at SC2 to research this shit lol.

Did something like that in BC2 with a helicopter once, was in a Blackhawk being tailed by a Havok so I gained alt, jumped out and AT4'd the Havok, and landed back in the helo because a passenger in the helo took control and happened to fly it back under me as I was parachuting to the ground lols.
