As the end of the year approaches, many of the recently released titles have already left my mind. I recently re-acquired Fallout 3 and have subsequently beat nearly all of the DL content. With this fresh in my mind my eyes and ears turn towards 2010.
Several months ago Fallout: Vegas was announced, to some this heralds thoughts of reluctance as they didn't enjoy Fallout 3. To those people I say screw off. I enjoyed every moment of Fallout 3 and further its DL content, The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage were by far my favorites. I eagerly look forward to what else Bethesda can bring from the famous Fallout universe and what we'll get to see and do this time around.

Post your thoughts and comments on what you would like seen/changed/removed from what you saw in Fallout 3.

You haven't played Zeta yet have you?
The Pitt was awful.

It's being developed by a different company (the original creators of Fallout) so I can't wait to see what they bring to the table. Do you think they'll still use the same engine?
Maybe Bethesda is trying to free itself up to work on their new Elder Scrolls game? One can only hope...

I've beaten Zeta, Pitt, Broken Steel, Anchorage, Pitt and Point Lookout...so all of them...I enjoyed all of them.
Also Con, I am hoping to everything holy that bethesda is making another elder scrolls.

I've already heard otherwise, but I really hope that Vegas is a full expansion for Fallout 3 and not a whole separate stand alone game, much like what Shivering Ilse was for Oblivion. I want to completely ruin everything with my existing character.

It's being developed in partnership with Bethesda and the original creators. So It's going to basically be the same setup, but just be a tad different. I loved Fallout 3. I spent a ton of hours playing it. Was just an over all great game.

I can understand what you mean, my current character is approaching the lvl 30 mark, and not to toot my own horn but he's considerably....badass.

Yeah, you kind of can do what you want after a certain point. Except the damn guys in Point Lookout, I kept running out of ammo and getting whooped up on.

Also bob, idk what your character is but I modeled my character on being a major ninja/assassin. Keep quiet and kill em quick, of course I supplemented myself for use in larger conflicts that went along with the story line. For Point Lookout I used energy weapons and the lever action rifle. I went through the majority of it with relative ease. My only issues were Ghoul Reavers.

Combat shotgun is your best bet for dispatching Ghoul Reavers. One or two shots in the face and they are toast.

expansion or mod?
Both guns I compiled myself, but aren't going public since I didn't actually model or texture them. Everything that I'm wearing can be found over at fallout3nexus.com. The animations mod that I'm using is a must have compared to Bethesda's horrid vanilla ones. It's called Fallout Re-animated or something similar to that.

I mainly was small energy weapons with plenty of health and strength. I was a more balls out kind of guy. I just sort of ran in to battles rather than trying to be sneaky.

Yeah... I had always just hoped that they would just unlock the leveling so you could just keep playing. Oh well.

Why? Fallout 3 had a great engine.

The engine was actually very unstable on the PC. There were actually constant blue screens of death before some of the more recent patches.

I recently got FO3 for the Xbox. First FO game I've ever touched. Wasn't that impressed with how the game plays. However, this is just a fact of how I like my games, not that of the quaility of the game.
As my kind of game I really don't like it (went back to playing borderlands). However, the game (engine) itself looks pretty good/cool as far as I played it (got out, went to that school then went to Megaton city or w/e it's called, got bored).
I especially like the ability to play in both #-Person views and the manuel/auto setup they have for attacks.

New Nvidia drivers have stuttering problems and shadow flickering issues with the game.
