Hey guys!

Just a quick heads up that we're putting together a new team for the next round of development on Eternal Silence - the most kick-ass mod for half-life 2. We especially need modellers, artists and animators, but are also looking for lots of other skillsets.

About ES:
Eternal Silence is a mix of epic space flight simulation and hectic FPS. It features:

Cinematic Battles between Capital Ships on battlefields as large as 32768 cubic kilometers
Choose between ataining victory on foot by capturing the enemy's subsystems, or be a pilot and bomb the capital ship from space.
Fast and Furious dogfights between Fighters and other Tactical Craft in deep space. Escort you gunships to deliver a squad of marines to the enemy hangar.
A True Space Experience. Cut your ship's engines and drift in the frictionless void of space.
Action-Packed ground battles. Seize decks of your enemys ship, controlling or disabling their shields, weapons... Fight off the enemy and work as a team, fulfilling the role of one of many classes with an array of unique weapons at your disposal.
Achieve Victory by destroying the enemy capital ship inside and out.
A Complete Story behind the Eternal Silence universe, released chapter by chapter as a novella is available online

Wow, your like the first person that has actually bothered to construct a decent post asking for help with a project, all the others are half arsed and have no definitive guides.

Sadly I don't come under any of the available positions, so I won't be any use.

I have one question for you though, how'd you hear about Modacity.net?

IIRC, Tweek worked on this mod. This is definitely a good opportunity for people.

If you guys are doing a take two on this, I'd like to see a little bit more in the way of tutorials, or ingame help. A problem me and a lot of my tf2 buddies, who actually had a few gamenights on your mod, was the huge learning curve. None of us had any idea what to do after playin for a few hours, and eventually just gave up on it.

Never was interested in this mod but maybe I'll check it out. HUD is suspiciously similar to Freespace's.

Dano worked on this too IIRC.

Shame I have no modding talent what so ever vOv

Yea tweek recommended this site, said there were lots of good modellers and artists here :) So... Would said individuals please step forward ;)

We're actually already working on an in-game tutorial, similar in concept to the hazard course of HL1. I'm expected it'll be featured in the next release!

Heh. Some of those ship names reminds me of the 'Revelation Space' universe.

Bump!

No modelling or artistic talent who wants to try his hand on our beautiful, steam-distributed piece of awesomeness?

So you're making Star Wars: Battlefront II? Awesome.

No, this is pretty promising, considering what is done on the website.

Check out this wicked sick shot:

Reminds me of EvE, just it looks like the action is faster paced.

Won't lie, those asteroids as well as the HUD (top of screen) look pretty bad.

I don't know if that's the old version of Eternal Silence. I just saw it in the gallery on the website.

The HUD gives off more of a Freespace vibe. Especially the target display and the center display.

They both look fine to me vOv

Well, I don't think the HUD is that bad, but regardless of that, most of what we need an artist for is HUD work.

Concerning game pace, I've personally never played a game so hectic and frantic as a good game of Eternal Silence. And that's saying a lot ;)

Sad to hear there's no takers here :( I think I'll be moving on, then. Thanks for your time!

Your better off giving SnaFuBAR (http://www.modacity.net/forums/member.php?u=155) a PM

He seems to have his finger on the pulse as far as creative members go on the forums. Your probably not getting as much interest as you'd otherwise get because this isnt a very active part of the forum.

Give him a PM, get a few names and drop some PM's
