I had the leaked 2010 Beta 2 from before. It'll be nice to actually be able to use this one after 30 days.

So how long does the beta last?

Edit: Found it, wasnt in a well place area, had to go down to FAQ.

"The beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. Users can choose to download the trial or buy the full version of Office 2010 at that time."

Companies and people that pull shit like that should be immediately dismissed.
If I remember correctly, they were offered a percent of all sales of word since their patent was "stolen" and they turned it down in favor of banning what just about every single company (and probably their own company as well) uses on a daily basis.

That article is horribly misleading.

"omg buyz 100 copies of office now it willl soon be bant!"

And the thing Microsoft allegedly infringed upon was the particular algorithms for parsing XML, not the implementation itself.

Here is a better article: http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/22/microsoft-loses-patent-appeal-word-and-office-to-be-barred-from/
