Yea, it's a clone of the DotA mod for Warcraft III.

I'm sure that there are enough significant changes to prevent the original DotA author/team from claiming any kind of infringement.

Correct me if I am wrong of course.It's been made with the explicit permission of IceFrog. He's currently making a version with Valve so I'd be more concerned with Valve having a problem with it but...deals been done.

And there aren't very many differences between DoTa and HoN. It's all the good parts DoTa had but without the engine limitations. Hero ports are almost identical and the only other differences are S2's new heroes but most DoTa vets say they fit right in.

Yup the game's community is elitist as fuck. Get a tougher skin and the game is great when you know how to play.

I actually played this back in August at Fragapalooza, some S2Games representative did a video conference with us and then we all got beta keys... I played if for a couple of hours but I got bored with it fairly quickly and started playing Demigod with a few people in my general area.
