I don't know how many of you liked Halo Wars, but I liked it. I just hate that there is not going to be any PC release now or ever.
I am only using this thread to get some more names, but don't bother with it if you don't like it.

Well problems I have with it are:
GFWL and since it was probably designed for the Xbox: Bad for the PC architecture...inefficient and design (Xbox buttons like in H2V etc).
Just like another H2V.

And it's a halo RTS... I'd say let the idea die. :haw:

Well Ensemble studio shut down, and new companies were formed. So all the rights and people that would be needed for a proper port, are gone. Wont happen.
E/ nvm, I dont think they lost the rights to it. But they already stated on there forum *one of the admins* stated it will not port to PC and they have no plans to ever do so.
I wanted it too. =(

Yeh, the only thing I could see is that its only gotten good reviews because it is a playable RTS on a console, but on PC it is only a less than half decent RTS.
I just want to play it to actually have beaten it without having to get it for 360, beat it, and never play the multiplayer on it.

2974.john please I want play Halo 3 in PC =)
Sounds like that guy has the wrong end of the stick.
I very much doubt HW will come to PC, its just not fleshed out enough to be a competitor against other RTS games. RTS whores will condone it saying its shit and nothing compared to blah blah. I found it fun, and MP was fun too (unless you played with annihilation)

I have never seen an online petition go very far; Especially for games.
I hate RTSs, but more power to the PC and it's gamers.

Online petitions for anything related to games are useless unless the studio in question sanctions the petition and lays down some rules (such as, you need this many signatures before X happens).

True. It also doesn't help that the petition is hosted by some boilerplate petition generator.
The purpose of the petition, in this case, is to show support for the idea of a game being ported. Thus, each signature represents a person who is pledging to buy that product. But since the people who sign these online petitions are notoriously flakey on their promises (see MW2 boycott), it's not easy for developers to take you seriously.
I would propose a fund be set up, and that each person that signs be required to put down a $10-$20 deposit on their pledged purpose, deductible from their purchase of the final game. If you can prove to the developers that your commitment is real, and that there's money to be made in the project, you'll have more of a chance than just demanding something be done.
Just my thoughts.

But on the internet, money - money = bad
I get your point though.

I do not own a 360 but I do like playing games from the franchise. I wouldn't mind being able to play Halo 3, Wars, ODST and eventually Reach on PC. Especially if Hired Gun isn't involved.

:\
It's in the name. They were hired by MS to do a job that Bungie couldn't be arsed to do because they were doing Halo 3. Hired guns are hired for specific purposes. They had rules and specs which they had to follow. Don't be blaming that team (some of them stuck together and went on to make 1 vs 100) for how the game tured out to be.

Point taken. On the other hand, I have this idea in my head that it'd be too much to hope for if I said "Especially if Microsoft isn't involved".
Actually... in any case, I bought H2V because I felt like going through the campaign for the fun of it. Assuming the computer has enough horsepower to run it at a decent resolution where the framerate doesn't drop below 60 at any point, it's not bad. I don't know if it's like this for everyone, but whenever my framerate dropped even as low as high fifties, the game would get unnecessarily jerky.

never gonna happen, SHOULD never happen.
just get yourself an emulator and download the thing or something (assuming that works)
the game was designed from the groudn up to be for a console, that includes the controls.
it might work, but it would propably not be awesome

but that would be pointless. Emulators don't work with the mouse unless its a wii emulator, and there are no 360 emulators.

1) As Heathen said, there are no 360 emulators out yet, wtf.
2) Unless you were part of the engine design team you can't be making such statements. And controls really are no issue. You can just as easily plug a 360 controller into your computer.
3) ...How would it not be as awesome? It'd be the same game...on the PC. I don't see anything which would be removed from it in the process of porting to the PC.

you could always go for the same way Crysis worked with the ring menu, have the mouse wheel button activate the ring menu and move the mouse to which option you wanted.

You know guys, just start pm-ing Skarma to finish his reversing for Halo because I gave him ideas for doing an rts in Halo PC + some explanations of how it would have worked.
Last I checked, he was doing some stuff with the rendering engine... If you want an RTS on PC Heathen, shoot him a pm to nudge him along.
