Scariest locations, places, etc..

I was wondering what you guys think would make an abandoned environment really scary. Such as jails, hospitals, towns, etc..

There's an abandoned mental hospital in my area: Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry.

It was closed, but there are well documented cases of patient abuse, most notably that of William Kirsch (strapped down to a bed for over a year). I also, personally, had the questionable fortune of meeting another one of the former patients, a very nice man who had a remarkable fondness for lolipops; all of his teeth were pulled without Novocaine, for no reason. If need be, I can contact my former teacher who arranged the meeting for my class for any further details.

But yeah, definitely the scariest places on earth, are those of abandoned mental hospitals.

I don't really find places like that scary, more like interesting. We go look what's inside them with my friends sometimes. At night though, they're a different place. You might get scared of just a graffiti artist lol.

The night just seems to bring out that paranoia feel. I've never really found myself in an area where I get scared or piddle myself. Though most of the times when I'm outside in the middle of the night I'm either with a friend or more which really cancels out anything that could cause a pipe leak.

You know what's scary? Having a Halloween scare-night in places where they send the loonies. ie a mental hospital... *Is the guy chasing me really not trying to kill us?* D:

That opacity website is pretty cool. They have the mental hospital that I live near (in terms of city-to-city, not down the street).

The only location that scared\s me was the backyard of my old house at night. Just looking out to it gave me chills when I was younger for some reason.

Back when the mental hospital was still in our town, we used to go into it at night by climbing the drain pipe along the side, and getting through the fire exit which was always unlocked. We had "contests" to see who could go the furthest in, and who stayed the longest. I still hold the record of getting to the 2nd level of the basement for 20 minutes. It was pretty spooky going by yourself 2 extra floors underground when there are 5 above ground floors, and you start at the top floor, with no light in the windows.

Haha wow I didn't realize that I forgot to mention that it was abandoned. We could get into some serious trouble if it wasn't. Was worth having Con make me laugh though lol
