Wow, this looks pretty neat.

So shouldn't you theoretically be able to just pour water and sugar into this phone to get an even longer battery life at less of a cost?

Exactly what I was thinking. Plus, Coca-Cola doesn't use sugar anymore (at least in the U.S.). It uses high-fructose corn syrup. (bleh)

Cleaning it would be a pain. It says the cola lasts 4 times as long as normal batteries.... but having that water and sugar and syrup just sitting in there for that long would just create a sticky mess, and I don't know if throwing your phone in a dishwasher to clean it is the best idea.

this actually could create an interesting business arrangement. Coca-cola corporation makes a more concentrated battery fluid for nokia, nokia sells phones, both companies profit. Shit, I'd buy one once all the bugs are worked out

thats a good point. I guess the battery solution could contain insect repellents/insecticides but I imagine that could create a nasty smell.

And what if the lid for the chamber where the cola goes popped off while the phone was in your purse/backpack/pocket/whatever? That's really gross, and inconvenient.
Plus, that phone doesn't really look like it could fit in your pocket, so it's not exactly the most portable phone I've ever seen. Maybe it would be good as a home or office phone, but as a cellular phone, I don't think so.

But on the positive side, if you get thirsty and don't need a phone...

You can drink warm, possibly flat coke!
I guess it's a cool idea but I can't see this catching on any time soon.

I like flat sodas. When I take a drink I don't want everything to turn to bubbles.
I hate that.

I imagine that putting Moutain Dew in this phone will void the warrant.

Who knows if their claims will hold true. That phone in the picture is probably just a dummy and doesn't do anything. If you read the article, there's a lot of "will" and "would" thrown around. I don't expect this to go anywhere.
