if I run it normally it sits on a black screen, no audio, no menu.
My resolution is 1680 by 1050, so its running in a standard 800 by 600.
when I ctrl alt del a white box is taking up like half of the left monitor (dual monitors) the rest is still black.
When I run with desktop composition disabled, it shows the boot splash but stays, and agian no audio.
Same with compatability mode, and admin.

Tell us your system specs. Most specifically, the graphics card.

It might be that you're forcing anti-aliasing on Halo, so turn that off. The AA bug doesn't usually stop sound though, does it?

I had the anti-aliasing problem and I still had sound.
