Well after a year I think of not touching a computer I decided to come back and finish my main project Overdose. When I came back I was going to make it high detail and pristine looking but I got discouraged for the amount of work I'd have on only my shoulders. So I decided to ask for help instead of mega rushing it.
Right now I'm just looking for people that can help a little bit out here and there. I need...
Animators
-Some one who is fairly good, I'm not asking for the best
-Definatly For weapons (if killa is still here and willing I'd happily accept your help again, ty for last time)
-cut scenes
-For vehicles
Textureres
-Someone who can make decent ground textures
-Decent bump maps
-And decent random textures
BSP Modelers (and maybe for bipeds, maybe vehicles)
-Need to be good at designing SP style maps for gameplay
-Decent at making city environments
-They don't need to be super detailed and take month to make, just not boxes and extrudes with a little bit of detail here and there
-(Riggers)Some one who is fairly good at rigging bipeds and maybe other random stuff
-Oh and I guess I could use some tree modelers also
:Now normally I'd do all the modeling myself, but when you want to make 10 sp maps you don't really have a choice unless you have a crap load of time. And I'll still be modeling BSP's too, just want help with a couple maps.
HUD
-This isn't too important, I could keep what I got but if anyone feels like designing some cool HUD be my guest.
Scripting
-I can script a bit, so all I really need is someone to help me when I get stuck
UI
-Need help adding campaign button into UI that plays the custom single player maps
-And just random buttons for turning on or off music and stuff like that.
Skys
-Basic decent skys
Voice Actors
-Older sounding people, with a decent microphone
Beta Testers
-Trust worthy people from modacity that are known in the community.

Well that's pretty much all I need help with, you won't have a crap load of work dumped on to you, just a little bit here and there. It would really be appreciated to who ever decides to join the team. And who ever is able to help could also be considered a part of DMT their choice.

Looks pretty good, thanks for offer guys. Animations look good, I could definitely use you.
And I'll take your help too doan on the HUD, my friend is going to design something for you to work off of. I don't know what your animations look like but if there good you can do that too if you'd like.

I've got a question while I'm working on it, are you wanting iron sights? I'm not sure how to implement them so I'd need to know if there's anything I have to do with the animations.

There were iron sights in the last version but they were kind of trashy. I say take them out this time malolo.
I think we're gonna try a new system and see how that goes. There's a way to toggle iron sights with right click, but I'm not 100% sure how.

Charging animation?
If you make working ironsights make sure you remove the crosshair completely. That will make them actually worth using.

If you use FireDragon's widget editor you can get widgets to run scripts, from there you can create buttons that will start campaign maps with the map_name command.

Found out about iron sights.
IR Broke: aiming down sight
IR Broke: is the easiest shit
IR Broke: you will ever do
IR Broke: XP

IR Broke: its the secondary fire

IR Broke: which i use 3 frams for
IR Broke: and thsoe three frames
IR Broke: are the position for the iron sight

IR Broke: you trigger lock the secondary fire
IR Broke: and make it replace grenade throw
IR Broke: then ur done

He says you can't animate it going from the origin and returning to the origin, but wouldn't it be possible with a setup like the plasma pistol overcharge? If you animated the secondary fire like the overcharge, you would have a charge up (move to iron sights), fire (returning to origin after releasing), and a looping charged (in sights) animation between for as long as the button is held.

Probably.. I just know it doesn't look too bad without the return-to-origins animation.

far as I know there are no grenades in Overdose.
There's nades but you can only use em while holding the knife. M67 frags and stun grenades.

I've also learned quite a bit about scripting if you need help with that. I can script in static scripts, continuous, startup, and even dormant.
I'm also an audio engineer, so... If you need good sounds, le'mee know.

Not necessary with openSauce Guerillabeta. it can EDIT widgets as well as create them. I don't mean Kornman00 v2.0 either. I mean OS_Guerillabeta.

One thought comes to mind when I think about iron sights in halo.
Unless you can find a workaround for it, the accuracy would be the same when not using them anyway.
People would just imagine the crosshairs in the center of the screen.

People would still just taking a wild guess. For long-range stuff, I'd imagine it'd be smarter to use the iron sights than to just take a guess at where they're aiming.

OK, so I made a nice city soundscape for Crssfire. It has four layers to it. They are as follows.
Base Traffic Ambience
Detail Cars
Detail Horns
Detail Sirens
All together, they make for a very realistic and seamless environmental effect on the sound side of the map. Traffic comes and goes; people arrive and depart in cars; occasionally, a lady or a man will get out after arriving; sirens wail; horns honk; you name it. It sounds VERY realistic. I spent all night last night tweaking it for you, Malolo. I ran into some difficulties with the layering and not being able to be all 44 KHz Stereo, but I figured out that you can have two 44 KHz Stereo files playing simultaneously and two 22 KHz stereo sound files playing simultaneously. Three files play as sound_looping tracks and the last one, the horns, play as a detail sound.
I'll post a video soon to show off the quality of these sounds in my Blood Creek Campus map.

Fixed that up with a script that deletes body's and crap after a certain amount of time repeatedly. But whats yours? Might want to use it instead.

Basically a city with 1 route maybe a couple in some parts to choose your path, and the buildings just with slight variation. My standards for detail on each building have went down since I first started Upskirts.
I don't know if you've played Warrock but I kinda want buildings to be like that. Really doesn't matter in the end, as long as it isn't just boxes and has good game play for a single player map.

Instead of managing the bodies, rather, manage the number of objects that are loaded when a player can't see them. It's really simple but I'd need to get my hands on a map file of the most current build or so. Detecting where a player is and loading and deleting scenery that can't be seen

After a playtest, this mod definitely has potential. The iron sight system works reasonably well. The graphics and animations just need some polish, and I have a few minor ideas on tweaking some of the gameplay.

The mod is much better now that you have to use the iron sights to aim. I love that. Just make sure you fix the "toggle" on it.

I've got the C7 animations done. Not too happy with the reload but w/e. Just need to separate the model_animations into separate animations in Max and re-import. Shouldn't be too hard, may have it done by tomorrow.

Well, I like the origins and the melee strike. Needs a nade toss animation.
The thumb on the left hand seems to be curved in a tad much, and the moving animation could have a bit more asymmetrical motion in it, like, the hands not moving at the same time if you get what I'm saying.
Other than that I like it.

The nade toss is in there. It's the only left handed animation in there.

The thumb curve is fine. It just looks weird because of the shadow.
I just used CAD's moving animation generator. I'm lazy k. The download for all the max is there. You can tweek as you please or if you really want me to fix stuff up I can upload a new version.

I agree. It seemed like more movement when I played them in the viewport but it wasn't enough.

Well guys Malolo has court tomorrow morning and last Tuesday the judge wanted to send me to jail. But luckily since we don't have a judge and there just at random I'll probably get a different one. But if I do go to jail its just for 2 breaches so I'll only be in for 3 months. So if you guys don't see me on you know where I am.

No Jail for me :D Good thing I had a different judge this time, and didn't wear my jacket I normally wear and a suit instead. I think the judge was going to send me to jail last Tuesday because I was dressed like a hood-lamb. They didn't even let me speak when I went up to stand last week, or even really go over my file, I stood and the judge blurted out in an angry voice "If a judge tells you to do something and you don't do it then I'm going to send you to jail," and you can get a minimum of 3 months for each breach which I had 2. But today the judge even said I looked like a good kid, also brought my mom this time which also helped. Anyways....
Lateksi - Thanks, your input is appreciated.
Inferno - Don't worry it will be crammed full of scenery, although I might include all the scenery into the BSP itself to avoid problems with having to many objects. Does anyone know what the material limit on a BSP is? I'd hate to do all that work and find out its not enough, but that never stops me from just putting certain scenery into the BSP that don't use many materials and putting the ones I can't add to the BSP as scenery.
Bobsam - Yeah I know, that's why I want someone to be my sky guy although I could probably learn pretty quickly to make alright sky's. But if I can't get a sky guy or make good sky's on my own this one is the best for this map, it has good lighting and it looks nice in it.

I think the material limit is pretty high. I've had 100 materials in 1 map before.
Also. Get to work on those gun models I need something interesting to animate. : 3

Oh don't worry mookz I'm doing pretty slow with this right now so I'll get started on the guns soon inferno. Coming down off shit really makes it really hard for me to sit at a computer and concentrate but now that I owe a bunch of money I should be clean as a whistle for a while, (whistles aren't really that clean though, there filled with spit) so once my brain recuperates I'll be getting a lot more done. I'm thinking about putting 3ds max on the computers at school so I can work on my models there, plus my teacher wants me to teach this kid how to make animations 2d or 3d for some grade 12 course so maybe I could teach him how to model well and have him join the team. Even though I don't let anyone I know in real life know I do this because kids will call me a nerd, I got a reputation to hold which sucks because I love this and I gotta hide it from kids who will be on welfare for the rest of their life. And this does not make you a geek, people who map (well at least the good ones) have a beautiful talent and will actually go somewhere in life instead of welfare like I was saying. I've actually started to tell a few people that I make stuff like this because I got this one crowd I hang out with (hippys :D) that are really good understanding people, and I've even told some of the 40 and 50 year old welfare drug addicts too, but I'm still hesitant on telling the kids at school. High school is like a demon gathering, I hate how kids treat each other and how they always are telling story's that are full of bullshit about how hard core they are, always talking about crimes that they do to make them look cool even though it just makes them look stupid because you don't tell people you do that because that's how you get caught but the rest of the kids are too stupid to realize that. Then another way that makes them dumb as shit but they do to be cool is be rude to the police so they get in more trouble. The cops know me well, but because I'm respectful they like me and let me off with small stuff, came to my house with a warrant for a breach, actually gave me a choice to come sit in the cells till next morning or turn myself in so I don't have to be there all day all morning. Then they found a roach in my pocket just before they put me in the cell and asked me if they could throw it out and let me off.
If you want to know how to be cool, the key is to be your self and act like something your not like 90% of all high school kids. I hate stereotypes I want to go say hi and shake this kids hand (people consider him a geek) and when I went to shake his hand he like flinched because he thought I was going to punch him or something, like I'm a really nice guy, always really polite to people and old people because seeing the joy I can give other people really makes me happy, its one of the things that keeps me from falling back into the depression whole, and not abusing drugs too much. I'm sorry for writing all of this stuff that has nothing to do with overdose, I should probably start a blog but meh. I love you guys, well most of you, be your self and don't fall into that retarded whole of how high school kids, man I wish I didn't quit for 4 years, I should be graduating this year and be out of all this stupid drama and bull shit. Oh well, out of 4 years of not going I got 2 skip too grades.
Sorry if I'm ranting too much, poppy derivatives like to make me talkative and I don't have any one else to rant to at the moment, so thanks for listening :D

It's funny how at my school I'm known as the "computer genius" and at the same time I hang out with a lot of the hardcore/skateboarders and they don't really mind. Most of them are actually impressed at how much I know about modding and hacking TBH. But things might be different up there.

I still have to finish 8th grade. Then next year I'll be the "Small Stuff." Again...(As in I'll be going to High School) Good thing you don't have to go to jail!
