avg
-edit- i pulled a Heathen.
turns out it was avg and all i needed to do to fix it was add an exception to the My Games folder.
i feel dumb for not searching a little more.

Go offline and turn avg off? I had this problem and had to go to window mode (alt+enter) if I wanted to change settings.

I've played all 3 Crysis games on my PC, but that was through Steam.
And the Framerate sucked, even though I blame that on SecureROM.

I blame it on Memory leak. I don't lose Frames until extended amount of gameplay. SecureROM is not a problem for me nor do i find any trace of it on my computer or in my game...

Whenever I play a steam game disabling the in-game in options can boost me anywhere from 10-20 fps. Especially in fallout and command and conquer, it lags me bad in those games.

Dang 10-20 fps? Thats a pretty decent boost.

Used AVG for along time then dropped it for security essentials, you should do the same. :)

I got Warhead working great, but Crysis doesn't want to work.

Try reinstalling? Could've corrupted or was incomplete. Has happened to me before.

lolol, I resent that.
I check for a GOOD WHILE before running here.
I google the fuck out of what I am looking for, but a lot of times, since I type stuff like "XXX crashed black box sounds like chewbaca" I usually get people who are just as confused as me with no answers. My lack of terminological knowledge is the death of me :ugh:

Hmm, I have AVG and had no issues at all, just installed it (non steam) and worked straight away.
To be honest though, DX10 ultra high settings doesnt look as good as some screenshots I've seen, slightly disappointed.

I tried uninstalling AVG but I still couldn't get Crysis to NOT crash whenever I tried to load the game or change any options... but I reinstalled it and installed up to patch 1.2. Ran fine, and then I installed 1.21 and it started crashing again.
What's this security essentials, though? I like having an alternative to AVG... EDIT: Ah, Microsoft Security Essentials? I'll have to give it a try.

If you have AVG and you got the same problem then you have to change and install the Quick Heal because I assured you that it will definitely work.
I think that may be possible that one of your file system of your OS will be corrupted and it can be solve by copying from your original Windows CD.

Warhead ran like shit on my machine.
Crysis 1, used to run good, infact, twice as good as warhead, and looked better than blurry warhead.
I upgraded to an i7 and 6gb ram, windows 7, it now runs worse than it used to on my old dual core and 2 gb ram. Same settings.
Yeah, I don't get it.
