The name of this game is H.A.V.E. Online. It's a PC title, and an open beta is supposed to go down sometime this year. The game looks strangely familiar.

An homage?

Even with the otaku toy twist, the game is a little too close to Team Fortress 2 for some on the Korean internet, where the game is kicking up a mini-controversy. The game is being called "an embarrassment" to the Korean game industry.

H.A.V.E.'s publisher SK iMedia has not made a comment about the Team Fortress 2 likeness. Check out the trailer comparison shots and wonder to yourself why they called this game H.A.V.E. and not Toy Fortress Story.

Missed opportunity, that.

I'm personally going to give it a try. Little disappointed that its 3rd Person.

Oh god, bring on the character copy skins. Everyone is going to want anime dolls as heavies.

Would have been a great TF3 tbh.

Well, maybe with a bit less "oh god hot chicks vs robots", (though the action figure/robot thing sounds ...somewhat good)

I thought they would have done this already.

Didn't we have a thread on this already? Also, where's the Haruhi looking character!? You gotta have that one in this thread no matter what!

Meh, I'd play it. Not as religiously as TF2, though.

...
I can't believe someone is seriously trying to make money ripping off TF2.
I suppose maybe the Korean audiences haven't played it yet, but still, this is just TF2 for lolis.

Not to mention the use of brass instruments.

I think that the "They're toys..." aspect of it is appealing, and I always liked the aesthetic of the "Toy Fortress" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9XTrzI4cO0) maps.

However, I think outright stealing of the characters ("Ooh, a fast moving character with a baseball bat? Oh and a solider one? Oh and one with pipe bombs? Oh look, it's one with a mini gun. Oh and a sniper too.") is just tacky.

And honestly, seeing how seriously the azns take their gaming, I don't know how they expected anyone to NOT notice.

Are you fucking serious?

This is an affront to TF2. They basically copied it, then filled it with anime figured and robots. Fucking hell. <:maddowns:>

Watch this end up being in the source engine.
