Found this here (http://mycryengine.com/index.php?conid=3)

The CryENGINE® 3 Educational License is available to educators wanting to ensure that their students gain experience with the state-of-the-art in game development and real-time 3D technology. For courses and research projects in game development, 3D graphics, simulation, architecture, animation, film and design, CryENGINE® 3 is the most up-to-date technology available and is now FREE.Unfortunatly it is not available as stand alone to students as only educational facilities may apply but those of you who are doing this for college/university you may want to badger your educational team leader to see if your college applies.

If you want to know more about our licensing CryENGINE® 3 for your university, please register here, returning the executed legal documents provided at registration. NOTE: Only educational facility employees may apply.

Bit more info on cryengine 3, starting with a screenshot of Sandbox3.
For some reason two of the screenshots say sandbox2 but they were screencaps of the CE3 video hosted on the dev licencing site so they could very well be earlier forms not originaly designed to be shown off.
Thus why the string in the application name hadn't been changed.
Either way, there are some drastic differences between sandbox 2 and 3 as shown in the render viewports.

K.
With the stuff crytek are showing off for Cryengine3 looks like the graphics bar for the xbox as well as playstation are being raised a fair bit.
not sure how many saw the dev video they showed of a while back with all 3 systems sync'd but the set up they had was looking pretty good and that was about 3-4 months ago, i look forward to how crysis 2 looks on the xbox.:iamafag:

The xbox and ps3 only have 256mb of graphics memory? That's fucking hilarious. Way to fail.

PS3 has 256MB dedicated and 256MB system. Xbox 360 has 512MB shared and 10MB extra eDRAM. The 360 is slightly more flexible.
