Eva: The game air for you yet?
WE WANT GOLD: OWNED
WE WANT GOLD: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
Eva: Canada leads US 2-1, US ties it at 24 seconds in 3rd period, game goes into overtime, US starts playing too defensively again and goalie trips up giving Canada the game winning goal 3-2 sudden death.
WE WANT GOLD: FUCKING
WE WANT GOLD: TROLLED
Eva: If US played it like they did right at the end of 3rd
Eva: They probably would have taken the goal.
WE WANT GOLD: TEAM CANADA FOR GREATEST TROLL OF THE DECADE
Eva: And since I really don't want to listen to you about this, I'm just removing you now and sparing myself the annoyance.
Eva is now Offline.

The Olympics if the biggest prize in international hockey, of course we fucking care.
Also the country with most gold medals is regarded as the "winner" of the Olympic games.

Medal to population is bullshit. It should be a medal to athlete ratio. The US typically has the most athletes and not everyone wins, so we still shouldn't appear as #1 though.

Warsaw
February 28th, 2010, 08:13 PM
wow your country has 260 million more people than canada what a surprise you have more golds in total

I daresay somebody is defensive because he's from an inferior country that is, at this point in time, dependent upon the US for its economical and military well-being. :realsmug: There are only a certain number of athletes in the Olympics dude. If Canada wanted to they could put the same number of people in. Your point is invalid. And no, I don't think the "talent diversity" is a legit excuse either because I don't believe in talent. It's hard work and luck.

On a related note, I like how Canada (and the rest of the world) by and large tear down the US for being loud and obnoxious about "being the bestest country ever". Hear I am, on this forum, where we have some prime Canadian specimens being louder and more obnoxious than most loudmouthed Americans. Oh, and it's not just tonight, it's been a trend since the forum was founded. Good job guys, love the hypocrisy. Yeah, let's hate on the USA because our countries are too pussy-footed to amount to anything more than a bunch of socialist crybabies longing for glory long passed which wasn't that glorious and wasn't all ours to begin with! Wooo!

Seriously guys. It was a good game and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Both teams made a good effort. There is nothing to be had by rubbing it in, especially because you won by the skin of your teeth and thus can't lay claim to a massive beat-down. Way to be a bunch of asshats and make it a stinker. It's the fucking Olympics, which are supposed to be about sportsmanship and athleticism, and you've successfully turned it into a cockfight.

Long live Canada, the new United States of the world! From now on, we all hate on Canada! :downs:

P.S. For the record, I don't begrudge Canada the win. They deserve it. There is a distinct "poor winners" attitude going around though, and it tarnishes what the Canadian team has accomplished. Also, half the Canadian players play for American teams in the NHL anyways, sooooo...

rossmum
February 28th, 2010, 08:25 PM
hahaha get mad

you realise most of the time when i hate on the us it's all in good fun but naturally americans as a general rule will immediately go on the defensive (usually by claiming to be superior :lolugh:) even if it's a joke

and bro, avro canada arrow. if diefenbaker hadn't been a retard, your airforce would've been buying planes from US, not the other way around. but whatever if there's one thing i've learned it's that arguing with americans is pointless because they'll just get butthurt and talk themselves up and everyone else down and it gets old really fast

you guys took the shit out of us after the loss, but you can't stand it when we do the same thing back. figures.

Well, my mother is half-French (she was born in Tunisia on a French base and lived in France for half her life, mom was American...she might as well be full French), which makes me a whole quarter French...none of this "hurr I'm 1/16th this/that cuz my great great great motherfucker was this/that". So, when I say I don't like the French, it carries some weight (no, I do not hate my mother...she's the exception).

Thus, exceptionally amusing. :D

Maniac

Yea for us living in the prairies anything above -10 in winter is just balmy.
I think i prefer the bone chilling cold here to the constant galeforce winds and rain 2 days out of 3 of Britain.

Back on topic though, give your reasons for disliking the French, oh wait, thats not right.

Neidermayer had an amazing game, every play he made was simple, safe and well executed with speed.
I feel a little sorry for Brodeur, he should have been a backup goalie to Luongo and never started. That being said, i bet he was happy to get a couple more Olympic wins.

Warsaw
March 1st, 2010, 08:54 PM
I was confused as to why they were saying Miller would be MVP, because I thought Luongo was a much better goalie. Unlike Miller, he held on to the puck every opportunity so he could break the gameplay and give the Canadians a shot at taking back possession.

Here at the bottom of the north coast it's fucking wet and windy all the time. Makes 15 degrees seem cold. I've been up at Prince George in the interior at -20C and it feels a little brisk but very invigorating. I definitely hate humidity.

In any case... GO CANADA. And yes, we do sometimes try to rub it in a little hard, but it's only a reflex action from all the "rubbing-it-in" that we've taken in the past, at least from my understanding.
