Yeah. The flare just doesn't match the vast moajority of Halo's other lighting and the tone in general. Halo is not Mass Effect.

Halo is not Mass Effect, however, with the other small, yet effecting the map a bit in a way, it fits alot. It's also not as obnoxious as the old sun (the picture of that one is me looking directly at it, mind that). There is people telling me to keep it, keep it with a few modifications, and others telling me to use the default sun. At the moment im in favor of using this one, but I think I'll battle it out with L0d3x and find his opinion.

It doesn't look bad, but it looks a bit odd. The horizontal makes it look too abnormal, almost unrelated to physics IMO. Show us some gameplay going along with it; I believe that same area has hosted an encounter already shown.

Looks kind of weird. The halo effect on it just seems out of place.

I think the default sun looks much better. Sure, this new sun is cool but it doesn't really look like a sun. If you were to take a look at the sun in the sky (not recommending that you do that btw), you would see that it doesn't really look like what you're doing with it.

Oh. That sun looks, as stated by others, odd. It would probably be nice on a horizon looking sky.

Update time

Heres a list of some things you can expect to see in Lumoria:

* Brand-new storyline interacting with an entire new world, characters, and gameplay.

* Custom cutscenes

* Brand new dialouge

* New enemies

* Edited FOV for 85 instead of the defualt 70 (85 = xbox fov)

* Lighting effects

And more

When Lumoria is released we also release the following separately with it:

* Script

* Tags

* Sky

It will also be unprotected for any other things you may want or need and edit's you may want to make.

Lumoria it self is complete with gameplay and art. All BSPs are done, along with all of their scripting (excluding the cut scenes needed) and lightmaps.

If you can help us with dialouge, please respond. We are looking for someone with a good mic and sounds decent. This character is the scientist.

And as always, were looking for any other above average animators to help us. We have Shade at the moment, but with our deadline being fairly soon I don't possibly see him finishing it all. We need another person that can redo, or fix our opening cut scene.

This is also the last update I'll probably be giving before the release.

Edit: Our release date is now official : 26th of November, 2010.

So yeah, it's almost time to drop into the world of Lumoria~

I can't do animations as much as i would right now. I have Yearly exams on right now and its a real setback for me, and i have a few assignments to hand in too. I'll do my best right now. Hope this all goes well, and i hope i finish those animations too....

I found it funny and clever :)

And to answer to your comment, classic weapons are fine. They're trying to grasp the original Halo feel with this mod and changing the weapon set would completely ruin that.

Hey guys, whats up?

This isn't really much of an update at all, its more of a reminder to check out our new site:

If you check out the Media page, it shows the pages for "Episode Two" and "Narratives". Obviously both of those don't work yet.

Narratives are going to be short pieces written by our new writer, Postmortem. They will contain some information about Lumoria and their characters, and perhaps some other stuff he has up his sleeve. Postmortem also goes by Isaac (his name), and he is writing the entire script for Episode 2 (which will be much better than ep1), and he also made a few updates to the script of Episode 1 which will be included in its update sometime soon. Don't worry, this guy is a pretty good writer and knows his Halo literature. You can check out some writing he already did on the site too, in the about page. (It's under "The Story so Far").

We also have a Blog on the site as well, where we will be posting our updates and sometimes having small interviews or about's on our Team members.

Thats all for now, just wanted to let you guys know!

The trailer video, or the video on the website, has a failed attempt at a widescreen effect with black bars at the bottom and top of the video that don't cover the entire bit. They rather look more like completely random black rectangles. The SP level was pretty well done, but I have to agree with mookie, in that the voice acting is very uninspiring.

Well that's why higuy has requested people with voice acting experience or a knack for voices to come forth and present themselves to him.

Pros:
Deep interactive campaign
Voice Acting
Beautiful levels

Cons:
Fucked up voice acting
Little replayability


Although I'm sure someone's pointed these out already, just my personal "review" of sorts.

I give this a 9.5/10. -0.5 because of the terrible replayability. I don't care about the voice acting or flickering bipeds in cut scenes..

I'm capable of various styles of voices, got about 4 octaves of range, a decent mic, and I'm not afraid to get a bit loud, but I've never really tried to voice act. I'd say at least let me audition if anything, give me my lines and motivation and I could send some wavs

Hello Tm mapping team I just wanted to say how inprest I am with your project!
And specially with the architecture.
I have but a few things to say:
please dont make the map misty or dark I hate maps with bad visibility.(If you are gone do it, dont over do it.)
The Spectre turret is a little bit overpowered it is alright aslong as theres only one to batle, but if in episode 2 there's two at one's to battle you need to power it down.
Also realy cool that the odst soldjers get in turrets.
Can you make the falling damage slightly less.
It would be cool if in the big hall before the big boss there would be 2 sniper jackals.
I also love the (hidden) fuel rod gun.
I love the halo 2 flying bugs with guns.
Love all the incredible details.
Some more notes:
If you add custom weapons let them a chance to the game play.
Voice acting can be done a little better (not much thow)
I think that that small amount of texture stretching should be tha last priorety.
Can you make marines malay attack?
