Excuse my ignorance, but are there any HD PVRs that can record at 1080p? I've been looking around, but it appears that most (if not all) accept 1080i at the most and then can be rendered to 1080p. I may have misinterpreted something somewhere, so If that's the case feel free to point and laugh... and I'd also appreciate it if you could point out what I've said wrong.

hauppauge (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html) says 1080i, but it can capture 1080p. I do it all the time. With TME, you can set to render as it records with .M2TS files. Though they dont look as good if you rendered to avi or mkv

Do you know if it supports 1920x1080 from a DVI to HDMI source? Like as in a pc?

What the Hauppauge? No. It has component in and out, and a set of S-Video/Composite for low-res output.

Thats the Hauppague HD PVR and its connections.

Oh yeah, that's right. When writing my previous post I was thinking of the Blackmagic Intensity: http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/
My bad.

Wow, I might have to get on of those and loose all the cables
