That's pretty nifty. Now let 'em do that for UVWs or 3d games. (Never ending game geometry [that's natural] anyone?)

i see the reflection, wait STOP RIGHT THERE

Can you enhance that?

My jaw dropped at that part.

My thoughts exactly.

I just learned how to photoshop with one easy youtube video.

Pretty ridiculous, they're making PS easier and easier to use, who needs professionals these days..?

Goodbye dreams of possibly becoming a graphic designer, in 5 years any joe can do it.

Phopojijo
March 25th, 2010, 01:03 PM
Any Joe can do it now... it just takes a shit load of practice and a keen will to play around. It will always take that. They're just making the tedious (in this case, to the point of near impossibility) stuff automated.

You can sign up here for a sneak preview at Adobe's Creative Suite 5.

This has greatly disturbed me and everyone I've shown it to. There is something profoundly unsettling to me about the notion of automatically removing the entire goddamn road.

Con
March 25th, 2010, 10:15 PM
As I've told my friends, it's become as simple as pointing at something you don't like in the image, telling it to GTFO, and then it does.

Agreed. Though I think it's also an incredible tool. It's as if someone at Adobe did some witchcraft and is trying to pass it off as technology. It's just so easy it's unnerving.

Llama Juice
March 25th, 2010, 10:57 PM
I wonder if it'll actually work as well as advertised. You know that either way when the tool comes out you all will be randomly deleting stuff.

"Look at this picture of a forest!.... well it was a forest, but I didn't like the trees, so I had asked photoshop nicely to get rid of them for me... now it's a grassy field!"

Atty
March 26th, 2010, 03:09 AM
I'm going to casually remove all my ex-girlfriends from pictures and re-post them.

Wonder if it does clothes as well as it did that tree tho...

Llama Juice

I wonder what it'll do to text.

Have a page of text, and select a chunk of it.... what'll it fill it in with?

Heathen

or faces. Say when you crop out an image and you snag a little of your face because there is a few leaves in the way, what will it do with your face that you couldn't recognize?

I think I'll crop out the non-acne parts of some people's faces and have it most likely fill them in with acne.

It looks at the edges of your selection... then scans for similar matches elsewhere in the picture... then scans for the best match nearby the similar matches... then pastes it in... adjusting for colour correction between the two points... then continues inward until all the inner space is filled.

So no, it cannot reconstruct your face...

It works well with things like -- buildings, trees, fields, etc. where you can fill SOMETHING logical in from somewhere else in the picture and still look right.

Seriously, it was all explained -- in detail -- in the Youtube video I posted a few months ago... and a couple of days ago in this thread (post #4).

I don't have enough knowledge about these things to be afraid of what may actually be happening. My only question is: when will this be available? That guy in the video said he was using CS4. Does that mean there will be an update to CS4? Or will it go straight to CS5?

Cortexian
March 28th, 2010, 03:20 PM
He was probably using an internal build of CS4 with the features added to demonstrate, I doubt we'll see if before CS5.

Llama Juice

It's a CS5 feature.

No, it'll be IN photoshop.

You can already edit video in photoshop, I don't see why audio is that much of a stretch.

Yeah this shit looks really cool. What I can see happening is the standard for graphic artists to raise above the level of simply remove and shaping shit now, since any scrub can do it with this.

Prepare for the "mexicans stealing graphic designer jobs" crisis!

Go here: http://cs5launch.adobe.com/ and check out "CS5 by design". When he removes that horse from the photo, it pretty much sums up how ridiculous this feature is. If I selected around the hole in the wall in this photo: http://timo12.deviantart.com/art/The-old-shed-2-73212976 o_o. I'm pretty sure i'm just going to go through my entire collection seeing what I can delete.

SiriusTexra

I'm more concerned with CS5 Flash.

So many things that need to be up to scratch. The ability to at least delete or guide/mask multiple layers, to mass swamp movie clips on group selection, to edit the ease on both shape tweens and motion tweens simultaneously, auto update on bitmaps, fixing the movieclips replaying the inside timeline on mask change bullshit. But in general making it handle vectors fucking properly with filters.

They also need to fix the stupid new AS3 tweens. You can't paste frames at intervals, you have redo the entire tween all over again.

Also, the "tween files" that are graphics created by accidentally tweening two objects on the one layer, is fucking dumb. The tween just shouldn't work. Who the hell uses graphics.

Could also use some sort of illustrator esque conversion of gradients into gradient meshes. Would be handy for certain things.

Also, gradient masks that don't involved filters that rape performance.

That, and text, they broke the text editing with CS4, among other things. For the most part CS4 was better though.

Photoshop can go fuck itself though. CS4 was fine, could run smoother though. They also need to do the 3D thing PROPERLY.

It would make bodypaint obsolete by a mile if it just ran well. It shouldn't require a fucking quadro card to rotate 4000 polys. Thats before you even start painting on the mesh.
