People have been saying that for years.
Fortunately, EA titles have been improving of late, not that that's really saying anything.

PS. $10 says the first title they make is CoD7 by another name. :ugh:

As long as they make an entirely new game that plays completely different from CoD and adds some really unique features, then I'll be impressed.

First off they need to find some willing people, and I bet there's a lot of them in line already. With EA helping though, I'm sure they'll find some pretty great people who do just as good a job as their guys at IW did.

Since a lot of the lead IW guys (tally is at 13 right now) jumped ship, I'm sure some of them will make their way to Respawn. IW staff reunion! :downs:

Battlefield 3. It can honestly be anything they want. Battlefield games have never had a multi-game storyline, with the exception of the Bad Company series . I'm guessing it'll be a near Future/Modern Warfare game. We'll see how they do on Medal of Honor's multiplayer. Ha that'll be 3 games they'll release this year (assuming BF3 actually makes it into Holiday season).

Battlefield: 1778. :realsmug:

Actually, that might be kinda cool for real...

To be honest, first person shooter where it takes you 20 seconds to reload your weapon isn't the best type of game to be making.

Same gameplay, etc, but different theme. Future Warfare, ala the Star Wars mod done for CoD4.

To make a new game?
Obviously?

Yeah it's stupid commercially but as a gamer I've already played enough CoD equivalents. I'm much more likely to pay for something new and good (obviously I'm in the minority but).

I doubt this will happen. The ideas they got for MW2 mostly came from what treyarch took from CoD4 and made better. I'm not saying they can't come up with something new, but their track record isn't really great so far.
