I've recently been having issues with my LG kp500 "cookie" in that it randomly unlocks itself and calls any random person on my friends list as many times as it like's.
I got a case for it in the hopes that it would resolve the issue as it covers the screen which I hoped would stop it from unlocking itself but the problem still persists.
Anyone know of a way to disable the screenlock option and make it so it can only be unlocked by the button on the side of the phone, this is starting to drive me and my friends nuts with it randomly calling everyone.

put it in a sock when you're not using it.

That really doesn't help, what I'm looking for is to find out how to make it so you can only lock/unlock the screen from the side lock button and not the screen itself, as I said, I've got a case for it which covers the screen theoretical removing the issue but it's still happening.

If the cover for the screen is just clear thin plastic, it's pretty useless against unintended touching. I don't have that problem with my samsung omnia (it uses a similar technique for unlocking the screen) because my case has a pretty thick fake-leather flip-open cover for the screen rather than a flimsy plastic shield.
unfortunately features like these tend to be locked in the phone's operating system so about disabling it in software I'm afraid you're outta luck.
It's pretty stupid imo, unlocking from the touch screen should be done the iPod touch way which is to slide your finger across the width - that way it is very rare that unintentional unlocks would occur.

.
The case I have is a stiff leather case which unless you really press against will not be moving.
But because the crack heads at LG decided "hey how bout we make it so you use your touch screen to unlock your touchscreen so it's super easy to ring people's call bills up.
I got a reply from LG all they suggested was upgrading the firmware.
