View Full Version : Which Nintendo DS should I get?

Trying to decide which one I should get. People say XL because it's better but it's hard to travel with. But I dunno.

I have the Lite. But that's only cause I didn't know there would be more of them. It's nice, goes to any pocket but is too tiny for my hands causing my fingers hurt if I play too much >_> XL sounds/looks like the best one so far.

If you have any GBA games you'd like to play, get the DS Lite. The new ones removed the GBA port.

The DSi XL was surprisingly well built. I really like it.

Merely opinion. My old ds has the perfect lighting. I just wish they wouldn't be so dark when you turned off the backlights is all.

Original DS. Looks the best, feels the best when you hold it, and it's the only one where GBA games fit flush in the secondary slot. It's also probably the cheapest by far.

I only have experience with the Lite. It's kept me satisfied. That and I don't know if the new ones are compatible with homebrew, which MAKES the DS.

Original's screen is too dark for outdoors for sure. May be good enough for insidoors, but that's where you play pc? And I know that because I owned one.

I still dunno what you're talking about. As long as the back light is on it's been fine for me?

I'm a nitpick now but I'm still saying it has way weaker back light than the newer versions'. If you're fine with it that's cool. Also the original DS is ergonomically the best. So go for it unless you're playing under the sun.

The DSi and DSi XL have too many silly features that you'll never use anyway, and don't have a GBA slot. I also find the original DS a tad too big to easily fit in a pocket or something, while you can do so with the DS lite. So, my vote goes for the DS lite.
