Compressed 44100hz 16 mono WAV sound compressed WAV through tool. Each dialouge is about 2 to 6 seconds long.
The compressed sound files play in guerilla but when run by a script in sapien there is (literally) no sound. The sound file is "playing" (according to a script check) but there is no sound that is audible. If I play the same sound at 22100hz 16 mono WAV compressed OGG through tool it works fine.
What. The. Fuck.

Under your audio setup in the game settings, what quality is your sound set to? Is it low, medium, or high? Set it all to high.

Make sure its going through as stereo as well at 44k. Make sure you have the sound file compiled as all the correct types too, and make sure the settings are set up as well.

I believe unit_dialog sounds MUST be 22khz to play properly ingame. At least, that's what I needed to use when I converted the H2 Brute dialogue for the CMT Brutes.

K so I have the dialogue in game and playing over the cut scene. Everything is looking good (and sounding good) but the dialogue is much too quiet. How do I increase the volume of the sound in Guerrilla?

One of the "gain" values in the sound should do it, though I don't know which. I know that if you set one (any? idk) of the gain values over 1 it crashes Sapien when the sound plays --
04.18.10 12:31:12 EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\sound\sound_manager.c,#3304: gain>=0.f && gain<=1.f
-- but you should get the desired result ingame. Worst-case-scenario you can bump up volume of the sound itself.
